5 Question Friday

1. Do you do a real or fake Christmas tree?

Real all the way!! It has been a family tradition to go out and cut down our Christmas tree. It's such a fun time...and plus fake ones are just so....fake!

2. What is your favorite Christmas tradition with your family?

Umm...we have a lot of them. I must say cutting down the christmas tree, or cooking yummy christmas treats!!

3. Do you celebrate Thanksgiving in your neck of the woods? And, if many calories do you think you consumed yesterday?

Why yes we do celebrate Thanksgiving!! Check out my post about it here. I ate so much...lets just say I did not use Mama M's healthy eating tips at all.

4. Have you started decorating for Christmas, yet?

My mom has been I haven't really. We normally start putting them up after Im guessing they will be up soon!

5. What is your favorite Christmas cookie?

Black Friday

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I'm stuffed with Turkey and Gravy....
Trying my hardest to keep my eyes open....

Last year I only got three hours of sleep and then went shopping the whole day!!So I thought a quick Thanksgiving post will do...

because shopping with no sleep is not something I want to repeat.

I hope yours was as good as mine....

Hot and Healthy Thru the Holidays

Have you gotten into a good workout routine that you're able to stick to?
No not really. I'm not much for routines..because then it feels like a chore.

Did you try Keely's Pilates exercises...please say you did...please!?!
I DID!!!!!!! Not even kidding...I was so proud of myself.

Did you get all your cardio in?
Yes and then some. I ran four miles, plus some other things.

Did you have any fast food...if so, did Mama M's awesome healthy tips post make you choose more carefully?
I had a KFC Famous bowl...but I shared my biscuits!!! Does that count?

Last, but sooo not least...are you feeling Hot and Healthy?
Yes and No. I feel that I'm working out more but the holidays haven't even come yet...I might get tempted.

So lately I have noticed that people are....WEIRD!! We have the weirdest pet-peeves, fears, and fashion sense. So here is why I am weird...

I only drink Coca-Cola if it's in a can with a straw.

I only drink Dr.Pepper if it's in a glass with ice.

I cant stand when water isnt ice cold.

I dont believe in monster, or the boogie man but...

Once I turn the light off in the basement I run upstairs and dont look back.

I must sleep with at least 3 pillows.

I have 6 pillows in my bed at the moment.

I can't fall asleep without the tv being on.

So what are the weird things you do?

"Not Me!" Monday

I am so not exhausted after a weekend with little sleep.

I did not actually start doing some homework before the last minute!!

I did not once again change my blog background.

I did not do a lousy job at coming up with "Not Me's" because I hadn't done one in a while and thought it would not be fun.

5 Question Friday

I know, I know once again I'm a day late!!!

1. Are you a Black Friday shopper?
Yes, I am a Black Friday shopper. The one who runs in the store, pushes people out of the way, and goes for the must have item....Okay maybe not!! But I do love shopping on Black Friday and I promise I don't push people except for that one time to get the most wanted item.

2. What was your favorite childhood toy? (Think Easy Bake Oven, Cabbage Patch Kid, Shrinky Dinks, etc.)
I was in love with just plain ole' baby dolls. Anything I could dress up, carry around, and pretend to be a little mommy with.

3. Favorite Christmas movie?
My favorite moves aren't classics and are definitely far from it.....
How the Grinch Stole Christmas(The one with Jim Carrey) and Elf.

4. What is the "must have" item on your Christmas list this year?
I'm actually not sure yet...I would like Contacts, An ipod docking system, clothes,..etc. Nothing to grand.

5. Do you go all out with decorations or do you keep it simple and classy?
We put ornaments that my sister and I made back in Kindergarten and multi-colored lights. It's nothing fancy at all....but I don't think I would want one that is all simple and classy.

Good Times.

So I live in the State that is known for three things.

1. The Packers

2. Beer

3.Cows, Milk, and Cheese.

We also tend to wear cheese on our heads! Why? I really couldn't tell ya.

So that doesn't leave much for us teenagers to we turn normal boring activities into super fun nights!!! Like last week for example...

We made this Starbucks drink..

Into a night of listening to music at Barnes and Noble. Which then turned into a photoshoot (and I apparently turned 12 in these pictures!)

Yeah exciting lives us people in the Dairy State have....

Thankful Thursday!!

I'm thankful for the Thanksgiving break coming up!!

I'm thankful for my wonderful church family.

I'm thankful that some old friends that moved away 3 years are planning on coming back!

I'm thankful for all the opportunities that I have been given.

Merry Christmas Vs. Happy Holidays.

So I might of started something here...that was just suppose to be a simple question. Well things that are meant to be harmless normally end up taking an ugly turn. I was going to post something afterwards but Im actually going to post it here instead because im a little freak out to post anything on blogfrog at the moment because it's my blog and I can do that.

So I was totally against saying Merry X-mas or Happy Holidays because I felt that it was more of a anti-Christ thing. I still prefer to say Merry Christmas but I now realize that some people don't celebrate Christmas but instead Hanukkah, Kwanzaa..etc. I'm totally fine with saying Happy Holidays if it's for that reason. So do stores choose not to say "Merry Christmas" for this reason? I'm not sure, but I would like to apologize if I did end up offending people because that wasn't my plan at all.

Hot and Healthy Thru the Holidays

We bumped up the cardio goal last week to 170 minutes...did you meet it? Exceed it? Could of done better?
I'm really excited because I got over 170 minutes!!! I was really surprised when I added up my time and found out that I had about 190 minutes of cardio.
How about the eating? Snacking less? Or "snacking smart"?
I must admit I did give into temptation and get a Pepsi from the vending machine but other then that I have been doing great. I bought some veggies and I have been snacking on those when ever I feel hungry.
How's the water consumption going?
I actually haven't really been paying attention. I'm positive I need to drink more water though.
Have you been trying Keely's recommended Pilate's exercises?
I actually tried and failed....but next week I am going to try again...and not fail. lol

I know you're there

I know you're there- Casting Crowns

If all I had was one last breath
I'd spend it just to sing Your praise
Just to say Your name
If all I had was one last prayer
I'd pray it 'cause I know You're always listening
If I could live a thousand lives, bind the hands of time
I would spend every moment by Your side

'cause I, I know You're there, I know You see me
You're the air I breathe
You are the ground beneath me
I know You're there, I know You hear me
I can find You anywhere

If all I had was one more song to sing
I would raise my voice to make the heavens ring
If all I had was one last chance, I'd take it
I would stake it all on You

If I could raise up high and catch a glimpse of every eye
I would make them believe
What I feel inside

If I could live a thousand lives and bind the hands of time
If I could rise up high and catch a glimpse of every eye

I know You're there
I know You're there
I know You're there, You're there

"Not Me!" Monday

It's once again time for "Not me" Monday. It's been a while since I did one of these....

My friend and I did not get competitive while playing Wii tennis. I did not "accidentally" hit her in the arm while swinging my arm and she did not "accidentally" kick me in the shin. I of course did not win the match!!!!

This weekend I did not slack off on my homework and then Sunday at 10pm remember I have a huge science assignment due the next morning. I then did not give up after the 23rd question thinking that I could just get the answers from a friend. That would not be right at all!! The next morning I did not find three of my friends standing by my locker hoping I got it done. We really don't need to start putting effort into school.

Well that's all I have for this week!!

My Faith

I have wanted to write about my faith personally for a long time...but I just haven't. You see I have been going to church my entire life, I have gone to a christian school for all my school years, and I'm still struggling with my faith. For so long I tried to cover my struggle up. I was always jealous of the people that seemed so sure about their walk with the lord. While I was struggling with it all. It had been easy for me to put on my Christian attitude at church and school but around my friends I took it off. Then in 8th I snapped...I didn't get along with my pastor and I wanted all to know that I was against him. My "friends" dragged me down and I did the same for them. I was only in 8th grade but I was getting way to close to boys and I was going to parties doing things I was taught was wrong from the beginning. I was a rebel and I didn't care who knew that. I wouldn't admit it at the time but really I was just looking for something to fill the spot that my faith was in. I didn't want to fall away but slowly I did. My heart became hard and listening to Christian music even go me mad. I was sick and tired of being told that because I was a christian I couldnt do this or that.

Until one day I looked at what I had become and I didnt like it. Somebody I knew heard about what I was doing and said "No wonder your giving up on the church!" That really got me thinking. I didnt want to be the rebel any more. I didnt want to hide behind my knowledge of the bible...while I wasnt even following what the book said. I wanted the same faith that I had when I was a little girl...Isnt the faith of a young child amazing? So I started actually listening to the sermon on Sundays again....I listened to my real friends about how what they thought of what I had become....I stopped wanting to be that rebel I once thought I wanted to be.

I was welcomed back with open arms from my friends, family, and church family. I must admit that I have started changing my life only one month ago. This story isnt an old one from back in the's my recent struggle. That I hope that I never return to. I also hope that teens learn from my mistakes. The world isnt all that it's cracked up to be and it's a lot easier if you have God to lean on.

New Teen Quote of the Week

Last Week-
There isn't a child who hasn't gone out into the brave new world who eventually doesn't return to the old homestead carrying a bundle of dirty clothes.

This Week-

Christmas With a Capital "C"

* I got this in an email and I thought I would share. Feel free to post it on your blog or email to your friends!!*

When all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying
Nor taking a stand
See the PC Police had taken away,
The reason for Christmas - no one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing,
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!
Cd's from Madonna, an X-BOX, an Ipod
Something was changing, something quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.
As Targets were hanging their trees upside down.
At Lowe's the word Christmas - was nowhere to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears
You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.
Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.
Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!
At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith.
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
Choose your words carefully, choose what you say
Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS , not Happy Holiday!
Please, all Christians join together and wish everyone you meet during the holidays a MERRY CHRISTMAS! Christ is The Reason¢ for the Christ-mas Season!

*Remember to pause the music at the bottom of my blog before watching*

I have been so tired this week!!! Seriously it was like I could never catch up on sleep with all the tests, homework,..etc. Thank goodness it's the weekend and I somewhat slept in until my friend called insisting on coming over at 9:30am!!! Screwing up my beauty sleep.

Well last night I went to the movies with my sister and watched Amelia. It was in all a pretty good movie. It couldn't keep my 9 year old sisters attention but I thought it was good. Lots of old people at the theater with us. Well not old but...older then 50. lol

Tonight's my school auction and I'm helping out with that. It should be fun because most of my friends are coming and they make everything exciting.

So I hope all of you have a great weekend!!

Five Question Friday

1. What is your favorite "eat" on Thanksgiving?

I love the Cheesy potatoes!!! The warm potatoes mixed with the gooey Im drooling already at the thought.

2. What is the name your best girl friend and the best trait about her or how you met (or heck, both!!)

Her name is Shannon and she is totally awesome. Her Aunt and Uncle lived in Good Ole' Wisconsin and they went to my while Shannon was visiting them from Texas we met. We at first didnt like eachother(I think I still have a scare from when she hit me with her shoe) but when she eventually moved her we just clicked. And have been unseperatbly since. My favorite thing about her is her laugh. When she laughs she covers her nose with her hand and looks down. It's the cutest thing ever!

3. What would you say is one of your "weirdest" quirks?

I hate when people start talking to me when Im clearly reading a book. I tend to get wrapped up in my book and all of a sudden somebody breaks the wrapping. I get very crabby when that happens and it drives my friends crazy.

4. What is your favorite genre of music? (Hip hop? Classical? Rock? etc.)

Wow. This is very hard because I have a variety of music that I listen too and I couldnt possibly just choose one.

5. Are you a Night Owl...or an Early Bird?

Night Owl. My mom calls me the sergeant in the morning because Im crabby and I tend to bark out orders because I dont feel like being late. I get my burst of energy late at night...which drives my mom crazy.

Hot and Healthy Thru the Holidays

How'd your first week go?
It went okay. It was difficult to find time Get off my lazy butt but I think it will well overall.

Did you get your cardio in?
I had two days where I got in 45 minutes of Cardio(ahem. during gym class. Does that count?)

I then ran home from my friend's house on Saturday(It was dark and scary so I ran the fastest mile ever!)

I then also played Wii bowling and Tennis for about 30 minutes or more(Sorry about the bruise on your arm really was an accident)

Did you try any of Mama M's snacking tips?
I was so tempted to by a Mountain Dew from the vending machines at school but I convienced myself that I shouldnt!! I was so proud of myself.

Did you at least try Keely's Pilates Hundred?
Umm....yeah of course...*cough cough* Fine I didnt but I did have intentions of doing it. Does that count?

Are you taking this as seriously as we are?

What are your thoughts?
I think this is a great idea!! I just hope that I actually continue on with this...because that Mountain dew looks really good.

Veterans Day

I'd like to give a shout out to all the Veterans today. Without them our country wouldn't be "Land of the Free and home of the brave!" They are truly heroes in my eyes and I have so much respect for all of them. My mother served in the United States Air force and I hope to one day follow in her footsteps. I'm so proud to say that my mom loved her country enough to die for it.

My mom still has her boots from her Air force days....a size 4(Yes, I passed that up 41/2 sizes ago) When I was younger I tried on her boots and from that moment I knew that I wanted a pair of my own.

So once again thank you all for willing to fight for our country!!!

Totally Random

So I had a million thoughts running around in my head about what to blog about....the thing is I cant seem to be able to stop them before they run away.

I could blog about the wonderful homemade chicken noodle soup that my mom made!!! Yummy. But that's not interesting.....or that today I got out of class early for I could go sell Roses for bball.

Oh and the date is 11/10/09....9,10,11!!! lol

See not that interesting....What's your favorite thing to blog about?

Monday, November 9, 2009

Did you notice?

Stellan had his heart ablation yesterday and is SVT free!!! Praise the lord. I'm so glad that he made it out safely and that he wont have to deal with SVT ever again.

I added music to my blog!!! A few of my favorite songs at the moment....they change If you don't like reading and listening to music just scroll all the way down and click the pause button.

Also last year I played basketball but ended the season with foot surgery. So this year I have decided to put my bballing shoes away and become the Girl Basketball Manager!!! I'm really excited about this plus it will give me something to do these long winter months....because I doubt Yearbook staff, Drama Club, the schools winter play, and being the bball manager will be But staying busy is important....helps me stay out of trouble apparently(Or at least that's what my mom says!)

Also head over to Married to the Military for an awesome chance to win a cute Build-A-Bear.....perfect chance to get a free Christmas gift for somebody!!!

Taylor Swift+SNL=Priceless

What teenage girl doesnt love Taylor Swift? I will be the first one to admit I LOVE her. Taylors songs are amazing. I also love SNL. So Taylor and SNL are the perfect combination.

This is a must see!!!

Also you can enter for a chance to win a sweet Build-A-Bear!!! Just head over to Married To The Military and enter. I actually still have a Build-A-Bear from when I was younger....they really are the coolest Teddy Bears ever.

Would you say yes?

Cassie Bernall being a Christian martyr in the Columbine high school shootings of 1999 in Colorado. It was reported that one of the killers asked her if she believed in God. Cassie said, "Yes" and was then killed.

This story amazes me and has been an inspiration to many. On facebook I joined the group "If someone pointed a gun to my head...I would say yes" It has to do with young Cassie's story. My friend then asked me a question that got me thinking. He said "Would you still say yes even if a gun wasn't pointing to your head?" I of course said yes but I haven't stopped thinking about his question. So many people claim to be Christians in one place but in another they don't. I have done this so many times. Around one group of friends I'm one person and around the next I'm completely different. I think we have all done this.

So my question for you is "Would you still say yes?"

Nutella/Quote of the Week

So last night I had my first taste of Nutella. I guess MckMama has finally gotten to me. Alone I didn't like it at all but on was to die for!!!! Yummy.

In other news my little sister is reading the Frank Peretti books. She is reading a few of his books for children. I actually watched a movie based on his book Hangman's Curse. It's definitely not meant for younger children but for a teenager it was a very good movie. So if your kids/teens are looking for a great christian mystery book I would definitely recommend his books.

I've also changed my teen quote of the week. Every Sunday I will have a new one under my "About Me"

Last Week's was-

I am every emotion times ten, I conform yet I'm rebellious, always obeying but somehow still an outlaw, always talking but never heard, I am a teenager.
--Author Unknown

This Week's is-

There isn't a child who hasn't gone out into the brave new world who eventually doesn't return to the old homestead carrying a bundle of dirty clothes.
-- Art Buchwald

Pray for Lauren!!

Please visit this girls website and send some love.

I haven't mentioned this on my blog but I had a cancer scare less then a month ago. I had three odd shaped moles on my back and my doctor was worried that they were cancer. So I had them removed and tested. My Uncle died from skin cancer 6 years ago. So after waiting and waiting. We finally got the call telling me that everything looked fine!! Praise the lord.

But I still think how easily my outcome could of changed. So please pray for this young girl who is around my age. She got the answer that I luckily didn't get.

Im in love!!!

With a wonderful, good looking, Energetic, amazing,....the list could go on about how great my man is.....

The only bad thing about my new love is that he is a rebel. He goes against all the rules of living healthy with his chocolaty goodness!!!

And even after telling him that I love him....he always seems to leave not soon after..

But I always go back!!!!!!

Thankful Thursday

I am Thankful for the wonderful Halloween that I spent with my friends. And that I didnt get to sick because of the candy.

I am thankful for the four day weekend that just ended.

I am thankful that my parents own their business(s). So that I can work for them.

I am thankful for the many adults that have helped me out many times.

I am thankful for that yummy Java Chip from Starbucks that helps me stay alive!!

My Bestie

You see that year old picture of that girl and her grandma in Colorado on her birthday? Yeah the one with the long hair. So recently I have decided to share my blog with one of the most important person in my life(Besides my parents.) My best friend SHANNON(The one in the picture if you haven't figured that out)!!! We have been friends since Kindergarten and have managed to stay friend threw thick and thin. We fight like an old married least that's what we have been told. We have so many wonderful/not so wonderful memories that we never fail to bring up. Embarrassing Moments.Check. Bad fashion choices. check. First boyfriends.check. Oh and the list could go on forever!!!

So today I would like to talk about her.

She is an amazin' Asian. With the best personality. She is always up for an adventure. I know she will always have my back and the same goes towards her. Clowns are one of our biggest fears...and we still laugh about our hotel experience that involved our fear of clowns. We love going out into a field late at night with a sleeping bag. Looking at the stars and talking the night/early morning away.

She will forever hold a special place in my heart!! She is closer then a sister and will always be growing closer.

My 40th Post

Yes, I know that the 40th post isnt that exciting, but the fact that it took me six months to get 40...Im going to celebrate my accomplishment.

Tonight Im going to Starbucks and ordering the Java Chip to celebrate. Don't worry I will take pictures so you can somewhat celebrate with me!!! lol

So my big 40th post is about...*Drum Roll Please*.......Staying in Shape!!!!!! Yep. That's right. Most likely you are laughing because a teenager doesnt need to work on their body. But this year I decided to drop basketball. Which leaves the whole winter season with not much physical activity and a whole lotta food. I need to stay in shape for softball and I cant fall behind my basketball playing friends. So Im joining in on the fun at Mama M's blog

In other news....

I heard a Backstreet Boys song on the radio and I freaked out!!! Seriously I owned one of their Cds back in the 90s but I havent heard a song of theirs in forever. I just blasted the stereo and jammed out to my boys. Most likely people thought I was the crazy person in the car but I mean seriously when was the last time you heard the Backstreet boys?!?! Well here let my refresh your memory...

Just some teen stuff.

-It's sad when people you know become people u knew. When u can walk right past someone like they were never a big part of your life, how u use to be able to talk for hours and how now u can barely even look at them. Its sad how things change.

At the moment I'm dealing with the very thing this quote is talking about. Losing people that you care for is the hardest thing ever. My friend and I are growing apart...well we have already grown apart. We have been for a while and it truly hurts. The thing is we haven't done anything to stop it. We watched our friendship slip thru the cracks. The many sleepless nights together talking all night. The many memories that seem not to matter any more. After we both changed schools we promised to call each other often and hang out. Those calls went from many to none. The texts that once flooded my phone became a deleted contact and I didn't even know she wasn't in my phone any more. So when I see us hanging out with other people but every once in a while making eye contact. I realize that we let go a great friendship and apparently BFF doesn't really mean that much.

I think it's time to possibly make a call......

Yes, I must admit I went Trick-or-Treating with my friends. We all dressed up as modern vampires(Fangs, Normal Clothes) and had a lot of fun. Then went back to my friends house and watched four scary movies Children of the Corn, The Shinning, The Off Season, and The Uninvited. We of course all ate way to much candy even after the years of our parents telling us not to eat so much. The next morning we got up for church after 2 hours of sleep and a candy hangover. Over all I had an awesome time!!!
