Things I've learned in 2010

  • You will eventually find out who your true friends are. Even though the process wont be the easiest thing in the world.

  • No matter how much you wish you could grow up and get rid of school. You will miss being a teenager and realize school wasn't that bad.

  • Carpe Diem

  • Sometimes being their for someone is the best thing you can do for them.
I've enjoyed this year more then I thought. It brought a lot of good things with a pile of bad. 2010 was fun, brought new adventures, and helped me grow as a person.

I just hope 2011 will be just as great if not better!!

Have a Happy New Year!

5 Question Friday

*Pictures are from last New Years Eve*

1. How long does your Christmas tree stay up?
We'll that really depends on when we got our tree. When we get it earlier(a few days after Thanksgiving) then we take the tree down around New Years Eve. If we get it on Christmas Eve(which is never intentional but we are so busy it just happens!) then we wait longer.

2. Do you have plans for New Year's Eve?
Of course! I'm going up north with my friend and ringing in the new year with a party!

3. Do you have any New Year's resolutions?
Nope.....I'm a horrible New Year's resolution keeper. So it's better I don't make them.

4. How did you spend New Year's Eve when you were younger?
Watching the ball in New York drop on TV in between my Mom and Dad in their bed. I find it very pathetic that's how I spent multiple New Years...good thing I don't do that any more!

5. What was the best way you've ever spent New Year's Eve?
 Last year I spent it at my friends sister New Years Party! It was tons of fun...we played a version of Apples to Apples. Except they printed out pictures of famous people or their personal friends/enemies and then placed them with questions like "Who would most likely drop out of school and travel the world?" And of course we did other things but that was my favorite!

This weekend has been a whirlwind of craziness!

First we had our Christmas Eve service at church with a potluck dinner. It was better then I was expecting. Lots of yummy food, good sermon, and lots of conversing with people. After I watched my best friend Shannon get thrown into a snow pile from her brother we eventually headed home.

Next day we woke up to a pile of presents(which I had wrapped and placed under the tree). I got clothes, movies, and a new softball bat! After chillaxing at home we then headed to a couples house from church for another potluck. Our church is tiny and everybody comes together for every holiday! That's one of the few things I actually like about our church. It's like a big family at times. After spending time with Alicia, Shannon, and Zach in a dark office eating food and hanging out(Strange tradition we have. It's really a lot of fun!) we went home.

Then on Sunday we spent the day with my Moms side of the family! My favorite part of Christmas is spending time with them. All the aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and my grandma gather together, eat, and share gifts. We then finished the day snowmobiling! Perfect way to end the day!

How did you spend your Christmas?

Merry Christmas!

(Courtesy Google Images)

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,

The little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head.

The stars in the sky looked down where he lay,

The little Lord Jesus asleep in the hay.

The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes,

But little Lord Jesus no crying he makes.

I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky

And stay by my cradle til morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay

Close by me forever, and love me, I pray.

Bless all the dear children in thy tender care,

And take us to heaven, to live with Thee there.

Christmas Eve

"Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you: He is Christ the Lord." ~ Luke 2:11

It's Christmas Eve one of my favorite days of the year. The anticipation of tomorrow, Christmas Eve services, and so much more.

I hope you all enjoy your countdown till Christmas Day!!

Being a little selfish and complaing about christmas and my family

*I'm really not a spoiled, whiny little brat that isn't happy with anything, promise!*

I got bored recently and decided to count and sort all of the wrapped gifts in our laundry room. I placed the items into piles. When I finished counting I found out that my sister is getting a whopping 23 presents! That go from big to small.

I then looked from her pile to a tiny pile right next to it. That had a small number of 8 all with the name "Rae" on them. None of them large and 5 of them were DVD shaped. DVDs that I picked out while shopping with my mom I even wrapped them.

I then ran to my parents and asked if they had some unwrapped gifts still. Both said that all the presents are in the laundry room! I told them about the number difference and they said "You didn't make a list this year. We didn't know what you wanted!" In which I reminded them of previous years in which I made a list. I always was disappointed because they wouldn't get anything on the list (I'm an amazing list maker mind you. I type it all out. With prices included and stores that sell these items.) Actually scratch that one year they did get something from the previous years list.

In other news I bought my sister 4 cool gifts. Last year she returned the gift she bought me for something she wanted instead a day before Christmas. So this year I asked of she had bought me anything her response "I didn't have time!"

After this Christmas I'm considering becoming a scrooge. Families sure know how to make the holidays great!!

Signs of Winter

My toes are cold.

My nose is numb.

My throat is scratchy.

I'm drinking Caramel Apple Cider from Starbucks.

Lots of cars in the ditch.

Snowplows out and about.

Wearing gloves indoors while I type this at work.

The mall is packed.

My Christmas shopping isn't done!

Christmas is 3 days away!

I love this time of year!!

There is this boy...

I have a problem.

A guy problem to be exact.

Which is never a good thing!

I've always been one to fall for the typical "bad" boy. Never on purpose but it just happens. No matter what I tell myself I cant stop it.

So recently(or at least I've finally allowed myself to admit it) I've been allowing my feelings to get the best of me.

I've dealt with these guys before and it never turned out well!

And now I get to suffer all because I cant find a nice innocent boy to like.

And I cant talk myself out of it with my friends because they wouldnt understand!

Oh joy.

I'm a planner which is good at times. It's scary to think that college isn't that far off. I've been thinking about life after high school since 5th grade? Lets just say it's been a long time. My heart has always been set on being a Neonatal nurse. So that part of my future is planned but what college I will be pursing my future career with is a little undecided but very close to being decided(if I get excepted.)

My top choice is Winona State University
WSU is a  public university in Winona, Minnesota with more than 8,600 enrolled undergraduate and graduate students. Winona State has been ranked as one of America’s "100 Best College Buys" for quality and value, 14 years in a row. It is about 4 1/2 hours away from home not to bad. Far enough away that my parents won't be making surprise visits but then again I can head home if needed whenever.

This may sound pathetic but I first learned about this school when they sent me a huge envelope of stuff and they spelled my name write! That is a rare occurrence and it defiantly helped with my decision making. Plus my friend lived near there and she liked it.

My 2nd choice is Northern Michigan University
NMU is a 4 year college public university located in Marquette, Michigan's(Upper Peninsula). With a population of nearly 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students, Northern Michigan University is the Upper Peninsula's largest university. I'm not very happy with the size Id prefer a smaller school but other then that I like it. The campus is beautiful, the town is the largest in the U.P., but its population is under 20,000. Which in my mind is a lot smaller then I'm use to. Plus it's only 4 1/2 hours away! They also having snowmobile parking. I love snowmobiling and hearing that made my day.

Books and Bookstores

I love books! Plain and Simple. Opening a book for the first time is a magical experience in my eyes. You enter a whole new world.

I'm not a fan of online books though. Sure it's convenient but I cant bring that device to school if I have time to spare. I wouldn't want to carry it around with me either for the fear of it being stolen or broken!Plus you cant just lend your friend your e-book when you want her to read a great book!  It's just not the same as a real book. It doesn't have the book smell, the binding, and the pages to turn!

In this article they talk about book stores not being able to survive because of so many people switching to e-books!

And I love that bookstore smell! Cant beat it.

I don't know what I would do without book stores and real books!

5 Question Friday

1. Do you regift...and if so, do you have a regifting horror story?
I normally don't but a few times I have. I normally feel guilty about it but I have been threatening my friends with re-gifting if they don't get me something good. ha. I'm just kidding...maybe.

2. Do you know what you are getting for Christmas this year?
I know the majority of my gifts because I picked them out on Black Friday but they are mostly small little things. My parents add something big to the pile that I don't pick out.

3. Who brings the most gifts in your family, you or Santa?
We don't believe in Santa so my parents bring the most gifts.

4. What store do you love to buy jeans from?
Goodwill. Sounds strange but I found my favorite pair of jeans there! They fit perfectly and they were worn in already. Perfect. I got my second favorite pair of jeans at Deb for $10!

5. Christmas meal: Big, All Out Meal or Snacks and Apps?
Big and all out! We have tons of food. Not always good for the people watching there weight but oh that food is so good!

Gilmore Girl Quote

[Lorelai answers her cell phone]

Lorelai: Hello?

Emily: You get over here right now!
Lorelai: Who is this?
Emily: This is you in twenty years! "Who is this?", I swear!

This scene in Gilmore Girls reminds me of my mom!

Today has not been fun.

Today I noticed my best friend since the age of 5 has multiple cuts on her wrist that look like they are a few days old! She claimed our friends cat did it but I've seen cat scratches and those were definitely not them! I confronted her and she admitted to me life has been stressful and she just gave in. She promised she wouldn't do it again but I don't know if I believe her. I've been kicking myself all day for not paying better attention to her lately. I know school has been stressful for her, she is playing basketball against her will this year, and her mother...don't even get me started on her. I just wish I would of been more supportive or something.

Hurting yourself isn't the answer and it was her choice but I still feel I should of done something!

I don't even know if I should just let it go or have someone talk with her. Was it really a one time thing or something more serious!?

She said to me "You just don't understand!" You're right I don't understand but I do understand that you're hurting yourself and somethings wrong.

I thought this only happened on the TV shows!

Conversations recently

Sorry for the few that are a tad bit inappropriate. I just thought they were funny and should be added.

My friend introducing her date to her mom-

Friends Mom: Hi, I'm Denise and I'm Katie's MILF.
Keegan: Ummm...nice to meet you?

Conversation about goodwill/rollarskates-

Aiden: I hate goodwill
Kyler: Shut up man! I got my rollarskates at goodwill
Aiden: Rollarskates?
Kyler: I was like 5...and they were ninja turtle...Leonardo to be exact.
Aiden: That's gay. Everybody knows Michelangelo is better
Me: I cant believe I'm friend with you guys.

Talking about advice our moms give us-
Julie: My mom always told me "Panties up, dress down". Thankfully once I hit college I just reversed this and had a great time.
Rae: Well I'll make sure never to give my kids that advice!

A glimpse into my weekend

No, we weren't sneaking out the window. A blizzard had just begun and we aren't that crazy!

Sunday, December 12, 2010

Winter Wonderland

We got over a foot of snow last night and it's b-e-a-u-tiful outside! I only wish it would of held off till today and then we would of had a snow day tomorrow!

I love when we have bad weather. Which sounds sort of strange but when people hear a blizzard is on its way or a rain storm people tend to connect. Does that make sense? We help each other out of the ditch, you're allowed to drive slow without people honking their horns, and grocery stores are packed in preparation of being stuck in your home a while. We all have that common bond and it brings out the best(majority of the time) out of people!

Oh and today is my daddy's birthday!

The stranger, The Better

“A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.”

I type this at Starbucks(yesterday but I'm not posting it until tomorrow..which is today for you people reading!) while I watch my friend Sarah color in a sponge bob coloring book and draw strange looking pictures. Seriously, sometimes I swear we are back in Elementary school. Oh and she just asked(in a loud voice)  " When are we having our dying party!" She's talking about dying our hair together but the people next to us must be really confused...or disturbed. She just stole my gum and tried fixing the wrapper and replacing it in the gum package. She's a strange one indeed

In other news we are going bowling and sledding tonight! It will be tons of fun!

5 Question Friday

1. Do you open presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?

We are allowed to open 1 on Christmas Eve and then the rest on Christmas Day!

2. What is your favorite Christmas cookie (or candy)?
Hmm....I just like plain ole' sugar cookies.

3. What's the worst Christmas gift you've ever received?
This hideous purse that was made from who knows what...and inside was a cross necklace. How they went together I have yet to find out. Ill post a picture sometime. Or maybe I'll re-gift it to someone I don't like.

4. Christmas song that you love?
I love all Christmas songs!

5. How many trees do you put up?
We always put one up in the living room and when we have time we put a small one on our porch.

Barbara Walters

I love driving around with friends! Depending on the driver you could have a near death experience, a laughing attack, or a great conversation...and unfortunately you might stuck with an awkward silence kind of ride.

On Wednesday my friend Olivia drove me to Starbucks. I was her first passenger since getting her license! I of course made her race Chelsey to Starbucks by showing her a short cut but hey when her mom asked how driving was she can say "Oh great! I just raced my friend to Starbucks!" I'm sure she will love that response!

In other news if you didn't know I'm a basketball manager for our girls team. It's kind of boring but allows me to hang out with my basketball playing friends. On Thursday they have their first home game. I'm so excited sad that I will be missing it though. My reason you might ask!? Well don't tell anyone but there is a Barbara Walters special on TV that night! Shhh... I would be made fun of to no end if they found out! They also might be mad because I missed a game last year because I wanted to watch The Bachelor final was sick..cough cough.

Top 100 names

They recently announced the top 100 names of 2010. I'm obsessed with names as I have mentioned here, here, and here. Only one of them really surprised me....

#95. Genesis

I don't believe I have ever met a girl named Genesis. It's unique(well apparently becoming not as unique) but also has a biblicalness that I thought people were falling away from.

I would never name my kid Genesis but I kind of in a strange way like it.

When I was your age...

I was trying to think of a good blog post when all of a sudden I heard my mom say "I don't understand why music has to be blaring everywhere you go. Don't you ever just want peace and quite?" A phrase she uses often. She is constantly turning down the radio for "peace and quite." So I thought it would be fun to write down things my mom has said to me this weekend. Most of them can be heard from the typical mom.

"No matter how many times you open and close the fridge new food will not appear!"

"I kind of like you"

"Bored! How can you be bored? I was never bored at your age. We worked all the time!"

"Do you think this is a hotel? You can't just come here only to sleep and call upon room service"

"If you could stay out last night, you can get up this morning."

"Shut the door! I'm not heating the entire neighborhood! Oh and turn off that light while your at it. Do you think we own the electric company?"

Just a bit embarassing

Last year my friend Shannon and I filmed the Varsity girls basketball games. We would sit on the top bleachers, have random conversations, and do mini-commercials during time-outs/half-time! What we didn't think about was that someone would be editing all of the footage!

A few days ago at the girls basketball game my favorite English teachers husband(girls basketball coach) mentioned something about filming. He then turned to me and said " I really enjoyed yours an Shannon's commercials last year!" Then my english teacher said "He was once editing a video and starting laughing. I walked over and we could here your conversations while you filmed the basketball game! It was hilarious!?"

I don't even remember what our conversations were about! But I'm guessing it wasn't always G-rated and all the gossip that went around...seriously you get bored while filming!

Well at least they enjoyed the commercials?

5 Question Friday

1. What's on the top of your holiday wish list and why?!
I really want a new camera. Which one in particular I haven't decided on. I just want it to be fancy and take great pictures! Why? Because I'm jealous of people that can take amazing photos!

2. What is your favorite Christmas gift from the past?
My snowmobile Violet. She is amazingly fast and brings me lots of attention. On Christmas morning my dad insisted I go to the garage and get something for him. After moaning and groaning for a bit I finally got up and to my surprise was my beautiful snowmobile! Oh and he didn't tell my mother. Apparently getting a 10 year old a snowmobile wasn't on her list of things that were age appropriate. No worries though. I haven't crashed and she is still running.

3. If you had life to do over, what would you be when you grow up?
Im still growing up! My goal is to become a neonatal nurse and eventually a stay at home mom.

4. When do you put up your tree?
We try to set dates...but it just doesnt work. We have gotten our tree thanksgiving weekend, Christmas eve at a grocery store,...and many more times. It always is an adventure.

5. What is your favorite Holiday?
I love all holidays! I dont think I have a favorite.

Nothing much

I had planned on writing something but I found this on my friend Elisebeths blog and thought I would share.

Seriously, I am just so grateful for my friends!

Oh and ignore the ridiculously bad pictures...we just aren't that photogenic of a group. Shame really...but we sure laugh about it enough. So I guess it's a good thing.

5 Question Friday

Before I crash from exhaustion, I thought I should quickly take part of 5 Question Friday!

1. What is your favorite part of a Thanksgiving meal?

Green Bean Casserole! Yummy. Sure I love the stuffing, and the mashed potatoes but that green bean casserole tops them all!

2. Are you a host or a guest for Thanksgiving this year?
A guest. We head on over to my Aunts house to celebrate thanksgiving with all my moms siblings and my cousins. Its tons of fun!

3. When you think of one Thanksgiving tradition, what comes to mind?
Laying out our plan for black Friday shopping, after eating an amazing thanksgiving dinner. I love thinking about shopping on Black Friday

4. You have two pieces of pie in front of you and you HAVE to eat you choose pumpkin or pecan?
Pumpkin pie! I hate anything related to pecans.

5. Are you a Black Friday Shopper?
Yes I am! It has become a tradition between my mom and I. I love everything(except the cold) about that day, even the ridiculous lines! I think it might be my favorite day of the year.

Black Friday

I've pre-scheduled this post because I knew I would be shopping already!!

It's tradition for my Mom and I to be standing in front of the doors to open at 3am at whatever store.

I love this bonding with my Mom. I'm most likely going to crash when I get home after a full day of shopping but it will be totally worth it!

Oh and I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Im still stuffed from all the turkey, mashed potatoes, and desserts! Yummy

Yesterday, after school, my friend Sarah and I got bored and put our heads together. Which of course led to many laughs, embarrassing moments( We were just joking Tarl!), and brilliant ideas. All this happened in an hour and a half while sitting at one table in the commons.

Oh and sorry were the main reason for our laughs and brilliant ideas. Once you get over what we did you will find it day!

"A friend is one who knows you and loves you just the same."

-Elbert Hubbard

I really love my friends! They have brought many laughs, memories, and interesting times.

The time has come....

Every year for the past 3 there has come a time when I get into a Gilmore Girls mood. What is the Gilmore Girls mood, you might ask? It occurs when you start replaying scenes in your head when you suppose to be studying for a test, you start quoting your favorite lines, and start talking really fast.

It all began 3 years ago on Christmas day when my mother bought me season 1 of Gilmore Girls because it was on sale. I remember seeing commercials on TV but I never actually saw an episode. So I popped in the 1st DVD and have never turned back. My butt was planted on the couch the rest of my days off. I even slept on the couch! It was that addicting. I ended up borrowing the rest of the seasons and finished them in 10 days. I had a serious problem. Once I watched the last episode...I was so sick of Gilmore Girls it was ridiculous! Oh and my mother complained about how fast I was talking. It happens if you watch the show enough.

Two years ago, during the summer the mood started! I couldn't ignore it! I popped in the 1st season and sat on my butt until I finished all the seasons once again. But when I finished the last episode..I couldn't stand the show!

Well guess what mood has come up once again!? Yes, the Gilmore Girls mood. Thank goodness I have off for thanksgiving!

Getting things off my chest

1) I re-vamped my blog this weekend. Made it more holiday friendly. I once again added music. I originally took that feature down because I heard people don't like clicking on a blog and music blaring. I think music shows a lot about I put it back on. Sorry if you don't like...but it is my blog.

2) Things haven't gotten better with my church life. It's partly my fault though. I went today and of course my pastor tried making conversation by asking "Learn anything important today with my sermon?" it was of course about forgiveness or at least that's what the bulletin said. I was actually plotting my way out of listening to him speak during the entire sermon! This makes me sound like a horrible rebellious christian teen but my pastor has put me through hell the past couple of years. I've lost respect for the man. Back to my story...I was in a bad mood because of him and said "No not really" and walked away. I should of acted more mature but I've had it with him! Forgiving him over and over again is becoming harder and harder.

3) I bet a few of you are wondering why we haven't left this church if the pastor is so bad. Our church is small with about 30 people on a good Sunday. Oh and don't get my started on why our church is 10 years old and has shrunk not grown..might have something to do with the pastor! My parents have talked about leaving even though we are a staple family. We hold bible study at our home on Wednesdays, my dad runs the sound board on Sundays, and a few of the teens work for my dad. Cutting the ties would be difficult. Plus my parents love the people, they become like family after a while and I'm the only one with real problems with my pastor.

Saturday, November 20, 2010

I'm pissed off! Whenever I try doing something good it always turns around and makes me look bad! It all started last Wednesday...

Last Wednesday my pastors daughter showed up at my house drunk. She was mumbling something about my phone charger, smelled like she has been drinking all day, and could barely stand up straight. I tried having her sit down and chill out but she refused.

My little sister was home and starting talking with her. She got mad and started swearing at my little sister. Alexis(my sister) walked away about to cry. I told Alicia to stay put and went after her. My sister asked Why Alicia was acting so weird and I told her that she was drunk and to just leave her alone.

When I got back by Alicia she has once again saying something about her phone charger. Apparently her phone had died and she wanted to charge it. I kept telling her I didn't have the same charger. She got angry and randomly found this metal rod laying around. She was demanding I either let her use my phone or get her a charger. I tried grabbing the rod but she ended up hitting me with it. My little sister trying to act all tough grabbed a plastic toy sword and was distracting her. I was getting freaked out that my sister was playing swords with a drunk person!

Alicia eventually got bored and decided to leave. I tried stopping her from drinking and driving but she is bigger then me and I couldn't stop her.

I had a hard time deciding if I was going to tell my parents or not. I eventually decided Alicia needed help and I couldn't just stand by any more. I told them and they went to her dad/my pastor.

The next Wednesday my pastors wife took my Mom aside. She told my mom that Alicia had denied everything and I was lying about it. My Mom was furious that they were calling me a liar and letting their daughter get away with this!

I love Alicia like a sister. We have grown up going to the same church since I was 5. I've seen the good and the bad..mostly the bad lately. Ive listened to her complain, brag,..Ive even partied with her! Except showing up at my house drunk and going after my sister was crossing the line.

I'm not sure why her parents are in denial about it. I had nothing to gain by telling my parents and showing them the bruises. My relationship with my pastor was once great and then it got bumpy and has never gone back to normal. At this point I feel betrayed by my church family and hurt once again. I feel like I always get blamed and Alicia gets away with it all. I even told my best friend Shannon(attends my church too) that chances are she would blame me for lying.

I'm angry, and hurt by someone that isn't suppose to do that!

5 Question Friday

1. What Christmas song do you loathe?
Hmmm.... ANY slow drawn out hymn style Christmas's songs. I like upbeat, sing-a-long Christmas songs!

2. Do you and your significant other cuddle at night or sleep on opposite sides of the bed?
I don't have a significant other but my cat does sleep with me!! I pet him while I finish up reading whatever book/finish a TV show and then I kick him to the end of the bed. Which he then stays till sometime in the middle of the night.

3. Have you ever had surgery?
I've had surgery on my foot in 8th grade. That's about wisdom teeth are coming in though..I guessing I'm going to have to get those bad boys pulled out.

4. When do you typically have your holiday shopping done?
I buy gifts last minute even though I always have the intention to buy periodically throughout the year. It just doesn't happen! So I end up scrambling last minute picking up items.

5. If money were not an issue (and you HAD to pick something), what would your ultimate luxury item be?
Daily back messages! Oh I would be in heaven....or a Starbucks in my house!! I couldn't possibly choose between those two things!

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Randomness at its finest.

1) I handed in my 2nd semester school schedule already! It seems like yesterday I began my high school journey. Time sure flies when you're having fun...if you think of school as fun.

 2) Ive been busy editing pictures lately. I think I might be addicted!  Do I have enough talent to become a photographer? In case I feel a career change sometime in the future..important to have something to fall back on!

 3) I wont have my fantastic English class next semester. Not looking for to spending time with all those other people I don't like. Oh well!

Dont become like me

Today I was talking with my 20 year old cousin who loves 1500 miles away from me. I see her every couple of years and we at the most talk on facebook once a month. We were talking about halloween and somewhere down the line she throws out the line I hear way to often "Don't become like me." It got me thinking about how we feel the need to throw that line at people in any circumstance. In person, online, in an email...or however you communicate.

 I must admit I have used them a few to many times myself but that still doesn't mean I like them or even understand why I used them! I don't get how someone acts the way they do but still feels the need to have that disclaimer. If you really don't like the way you are heading then change! Sure, telling someone that you can act in that manner but you don't want them to go down the same road is considerate...maybe.

Do we really not want them to end up like us? I mean seriously we act like ourselves all the time and don't change...and we seem fine most of the time. But we don't want them ending up like us. Makes total sense! Not. I also find it strange that I'm totally guilty of saying "Don't become like me" and I don't even understand why I'm saying that. Sure, I don't want them to act like me but I don't want to change either.

Sorry if I seem to be laying it all out. This subject has just been on my mind lately and I'm more confused then ever!

Can anybody explain it?

5 Question Friday

1. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you?
When I was around eight I slammed my arm in a van sliding door. Before they had nice automatic sliding doors that stop when it hits something.

2. How much sleep do you get at night?
It differs everyday. If I have a test the next morning I get around 5, if I have nothing to do I get more hours....Saturdays when I don't have anything to do I get 10+ hours..which really consists of all of Saturday and nothing of Friday night. I'm a night owl.

3. How long did you believe in Santa Claus? How did you find out that he does not exist?
My parents took the magic of Christmas away from me...and never told me Santa even existed!

4. What was the last movie you saw in a theater?
The Sorcerers Apprentice....I think...I really dont even remember!

5. What do you wear to bed?
Winter/Fall- Sweatpants with a long sleeve basketball camp shirt from NMU.
Spring/Summer- Skimpy shorts(or at least thats what my friends call it) and a slutty(once again my friends) tank top.

The things that happen in English Class

Caution many things that occur are because of the minds of teenagers...especially guy teens. Good Times.

Conversation about how Shannon's Mom tries to hide the dying of her hair

Shannon: And they think I don't know what they are doing in my parents bedroom!

Nick: Ummm....WHAT!?

Shannon: I mean bathroom...they dont think I know what happens in my parents bathroom!

Rae: That doesn't sound any better!

Telling our answers about the questions asked

Mrs.P: Whats your answer Nick.

Nick: Don't do it in public

Mrs.P: Don't do IT in public?

Nick: That's what Drew said!

Drew: I was kidding....i didn't really know!

Mrs.P: Well....ummmm.....(trying really hard not to laugh)

*Bell Rings*

Mrs. P: Just get out of here!

Beowulf Movie

*Sex scene comes on*

Mrs. P: (Pauses Movie) I forgot this scene was in here!!!

*She tries moving on to the next scene but the movie isn't cooperating. So we just sit there while the screen is frozen on a witch on top of Beowulf for about 15 seconds...which felt like forever*

Reasons why English is my favorite class this semester!

  • We have such a small class! I think we have like 10 people...and I like the majority of them!

  • We have lots of cliques in our school. And all the other cliques aren't in my English class...just mine and the best guy group! Seriously, all the other guys in our class are annoying, stupid, and think they are so cool..except Nick, Drew, and Grant. They are really nice and funny! They always make the class more entertaining!

  • Our teacher is really nice too! She lets us talk about random subjects and sometimes chimes in with a funny comment. I'm sure we have hit about every subject that would be awkward to talk about around a teacher...most of them even involved our English subject!

I'm going to be really sad when we change our schedules next semester! I look forward to this class every day!

The Nun

I love the creativity of my friends!!
They created a life sized nun poster for a school project....about Nuns and Monks!

And then decided to take random pictures with "Sister Nancy"

                                            And annoy me with her while I was working on my project.

At that is Nick...apparently he is her Prom date.

High School is very interesting!

5 Question Friday

1. If you could have any talent and turn it into an occupation, what would it be?
I always wanted to be musical....or at least be able to read notes!!! But I'm not and I have to live with listening to music that I cant make even if I wanted too! But since this is a hypothetical question I would want to be a Taylor Swift! Everyone loves Taylor.

2. Would you rather have a house at the beach or a cabin in the woods?
On the beach...end of story!

3. Is there any meaning or reasoning for the names you chose for your child/children?
I don't have children and the names I do like don't follow a pattern at all. They are unique though...would that be considered a pattern?

4. What is your guilty pleasure? (I know we've done this one before, but I'm guessing people's "guilty pleasures" change frequently. At least, mine do!) will be until I do...or find a new one. Either way at the moment it is Starbucks. I spend way to much money there!

5. Do you live in a house that is deep cleaned or straightened?
Mostly straighted. Every once in a while we will do a deep clean...but we have more important things to blog.

American Pie

A few days ago I was talking to my favorite German foreign exchange student. I asked her if Germans liked Americans and what they thought about us and this is how she responded...

Salome: Yes, Germans like Americans!

Me: That's good because I heard some countries don't like us.

Salome: Germans just think you are like the movie American Pie!

Jaci (My eavesdropping friend)- THE MOVIE!?

Salome: Yes the movie!!

Jaci and Me: Hahahahahahahahahahaha

Me: Well make sure when you go back to tell them we aren't like that! That's not considered a good movie!

Salome: What? That's such a good movie!

Me: So if Germans think that's a good movie...then we aren't considered bad?

Salome: Yes, just weird and inappropriate!

I think it's hilarious how they think we are like that movie!

Halloween 2010

 This halloween wasnt like I imagined it would be. I had a band/choir concert that happened to start 45 minutes after trick-or-treating began.

 I did get to sit and pass out candy while my mom was in the shower...except I ate the majority of it myself. The 4 tractors that drove by apparently dont stop for candy and a little girl was throwing a fit so her mom picked her up and walked away from my house. So sad =(

So when I arrived at the concert we find out that we are missing 2 people in band!! Wanna guess what they play?

Ill just tell ya....bass drum and crash symbals...if you dont know what those are just google them. You will understand why it's a big deal that they werent there. So we ended up pulling 2 choir kids to play for us. You should of seen their faces! I would of been terrified too! Playing the loudest intruments when you have no idea what you are doing is interesting. Oh and I was paired up with a foreign exchange student that had no idea what she was playing. That was fun!!
These pictures are of the windows in Culvers that the Art Club in my school painted! It was tons of fun!

I swore I would never say this but.....

No matter how many times I complained, whined, mocked, or just flat out decided I was done with volleyball!

I will always miss the team that I shared so many memories with!

Blazers Volleyball 2010 Season...will be missed..even though I wont admit it to them!

5 Question Friday

1. If you could be a fly on any wall, which would you choose?
This is a difficult decision! I'm going to have to go with David Beckham house!! Wow, that made me sound like a total creeper...

2. Do you budget your Christmas shopping or just get it done without budgeting?
Not really. Whatever I've saved up(or my parents hand me) is what I spend. I'm the person that normally has your present picked out in my mind months before I even consider shopping.

3. What is the craziest fad diet you have ever done?
I have never been on any diet in my life...yet!

4. Is there a TV show that you have seen every episode/season of?
A few to many to admit, lets see.....Gilmore Girls, Degrassi:The Next Generation, Desperate Housewives, Brothers and Sisters, Teen Mom, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Gossip Girl...and I'm working on Greys Anatomy.

I swear I don't have a problem!

5. What one song always pulls at your heart?
You're Gonna Miss This- Trace Adkins
I'm sure there is plenty more songs but recently this song has stuck out.

Any guess what this is and why I have it on my lamp?

4. toy story

5. toy story buzz

6. volleyball blogspot teenagers

7. woody toy story

8. rae the teen blog

10. "foot surgery"

I was really surprised how many toy story related things linked to my blog. I also found it creepy that someone used my name to find my blog!

Mary had a little lamb.....

Today I was walking around my house and the song "Mary had a little lamb" popped into my head. So I started singing it since I was home alone.....and this is how it went....

~~~Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, Mary had a little lamb.....and that lambs coat was white as snow!?~~~
I was in shock, and horror! How could a person forget that simple of a song?
I then googled the lyrics......
Mary had a little lamb,
little lamb, little lamb,
Mary had a little lamb,
whose fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
Mary went, Mary went,
and everywhere that Mary went,
the lamb was sure to go.
It followed her to school one day
school one day, school one day,
It followed her to school one day,
which was against the rules.
It made the children laugh and play,
laugh and play, laugh and play,
it made the children laugh and play
to see a lamb at school.
And so the teacher turned it out,
turned it out, turned it out,
And so the teacher turned it out,
but still it lingered near,
And waited patiently about,
patiently about, patiently about,
And waited patiently about
till Mary did appear.
"Why does the lamb love Mary so?"
Love Mary so? Love Mary so?
"Why does the lamb love Mary so,"
the eager children cry.
"Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know."
The lamb, you know, the lamb, you know,
"Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know,"
the teacher did reply.
I didn't even know that song had that many verses!!!
 I blame my parents for depriving me of knowing these things...
Unless they ask I don't even bother telling people my age. On my blog I don't say my age, my grade(I mention I'm in high school)or anything like that. Sure, privacy is one of my reasons but it's not my main reason.
My main reason because people treat you differently.
On my blog for example. A had a girl have email me because she felt the same way about something I wrote about. We connected and when we emailed back and forth for a while and it was like a typical friendship(except we had never met). Until she asked what grade I was I told her. Things just haven't been the same since. Instead of talking about things we struggle with..she tries acting like a mom! She calls me hun/honey. She went from "I'm so glad I'm not the only one" to "You shouldn't do the things I do!" Seriously?
How can I be someone you talk to like a friend and once you find out I'm 4 years younger I become the clueless kid!? Oh and by the way I'm a year younger then the average person in my grade!! Going to start talking to me like I'm in elementary school now?
I'm a bit late in posting this but better late then never! This weeks theme is Kids room. Head on over to Kellys blog to see more rooms!
This is the entrance to my room. To the right is my closet..which isn't that exciting. And look I made my bed just for you!! That is a rare site just to tell ya.
Of course I'm watching the Packers Vs. Vikings game!
Isn't David Beckham beautiful!? I get to look at that every time I walk into my room!
This is my duct tape wall.  I started it a few years ago and I just keep adding little quotes, random sayings, inside jokes..etc. I love when my friends add something!
Yes, I allow people to write one my walls with duct tape and fabric paint!
This is what I see while standing on my bed looking down.
This is wear I stuffed all my clothes that were on my floor before taking this picture!
I love my bookshelf!! It's literally falling apart because I have so many books fit into it!
My night stand. I'm reading Sherlock Holmes!
