Only one more day left in June!!! Crazy. I can't believe how fast this month went. Feels like yesterday was the last day of school. I always hate when June ends because it means that Summer is one month closer to being over. In other words school is closer to starting again!

July is such a good month though. I might go as far to say that I love July!! Fourth of July celebrations(My moms birthday!), My birthday ,lifest, and so many more fun events! July is such a great month. Did you know that MckMamas birthday is three days earlier then mine!? Dont worry Im not a

Ugh! If only I could get the best of both worlds. June can come and go but Summer would never end and school will never start! So enough of me rambling on about June and July....

What have been your favorite June memories?

"Not Me" Monday

I did not hit the snooze button 8 times this morning. In the end I didn't just turn off the alarm and fall back asleep.

I did not totally fall off my chair when talking with a customer at work. Only to stand back up and continue the conversation as if nothing happened.

On Saturday I did not go camping with my friend, her mom, aunt, and Grandma. I do not wish that I will become as cool of a Grandma as her was. Her Grandma did not make the camp "police" come to our camp and tell us to keep the noise level down.

That same night while sleeping in a tent there was not a huge thunderstorm. We did not get waken up by thunder that vibrated the ground. The next morning everything in our tent was not soaking wet!

5 Question Friday

1. Do you know how to play a musical instrument?
Bahahaha..oh yeah I rock at playing instruments! Ever heard of percussion? Yeah those people in the back of the band room shaking the tambourine and hitting the cowbell! That's what I do in band.

It takes a lot of talent and hard work but eventually you can become like us amazing percussionist. Hitting this cowbells and shaking those eggs. Yes, I play the egg shakers.
I just would like to add that I cant even read music....
2. What is your pet peeve while driving?
Minivans and slow drivers!! No offence to people that drive minivans but the majority of the time you go sooooooo....sloooowww!!! Drives me crazy. I know you have little children but I imagine they get bored staring at the same scenery for 10 minutes.....

3. Would you rather have a housekeeper or unlimited spa services?
Tough decision but I'm going to have to go with housekeeper. I could sit back and relax while someone does all the work!

4. Is there a song that you hear that will take you back to the moment, like a junior high or high school dance?
So many songs bring me back to some amazing summers!!

Summertime- The New Kids on the Block
This song kept playing on the way back home from an amazing time with friends at a cabin located on a lake for the weekend. We spent the entire time out in the water.

September- Daughtry

and so many more!!

5. What song best represents your life right now?
That's a hard question for me. I can relate to so many songs at the moment.

Toy Story 3

Yesterday my friends and I went to see Toy Story 3. I must admit the theater had more teenagers then little kids.  Us teenagers waited 11 years for that sequel!! I thought they did an amazing job with the movie. Most sequels are horrible and just ruin the movie.

I actually cried towards the end. I felt like with this movie I was leaving behind a part of my childhood. Toy Story 1 and 2 were my favorite movies as a kid. I remember many nights curling up on the couch and watching Buzz and Woody on another adventure.

Watching Andy all grown up and the toys being forgotten made me sad. As kids you cant wait to grow up but when you look back on your childhood I must admit I'm going to miss this stage of my life.

In other news Im going to go see Sex and the City next weekend!!

Miscellany Monday

                                                                 Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. I've been so tired!!! Of course staying up till the wee hours of the morning and then having to be up by 7am isn't the smartest discussion on my part...but hey it's summer!!! Isn't my favorite season all about enjoying those warm summer nights...and early mornings?

2. I've read almost every book on the bookshelf at work since I started. I work at a consignment store which gets a bit boring and I have to fill my time some how. I just finished a book called "Motivating People" and "The Vitamin Bible!" That's how bored Ive been. Oh by the way those wonderful books are both for sale!! Do you think I can charge for this advertisement?

3.It has been raining nonstop for the past few weeks and I hate it!! What happened to those beautiful summer days I dreamt about in class? Not that I was dreaming in class.....

4. Yesterday I took about 5 naps equalling about 5 hours of sleep. Two nights of pulling all nighters is not a very good idea! You tend to crash wherever you sit down.

5 Question Friday

1. What is your favorite thing about summertime?

I love everything about summer!! Sleeping in, flip-flops, warm weather, shorts, the food, no school, tank tops,...etc.
My #1 favorite thing about summer is those warm summer nights. Beautiful sunsets, warm campfires, fireflies..I could go on and on.

2. What is your ideal retirement location (if money didn't matter)?
Some warm tropical island. I would want a cute little house right on the beach.

3. Do you live in the same town you grew up in?
Yes I do. lol. Haven't even moved out of the house I grew up in either!
4. What nervous habit did you have as a child that you kicked to the curb before becoming an adult?
Well I'm not an adult yet. I did bite my nails off and own throughout middle school. I stopped once I got into high school, it was really hard!

5. What is the most embarrassing thing that happened to you while on the job?
I've only had one job in my entire life and that began 2 weeks ago. Yesterday while vacuuming I tripped over the cord somehow and landed straight into a customer. He managed to catch me. It was humiliating!!

Excepted by the World.

"Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever." -1 John 2:15-17

I find myself only thinking about worldly things. Making sure I keep up with the crowd. Are my clothes the latest style? Am I invited to all the best parties? I've even kept the fact that I'm a christian a secret from some of my so called "Friends." Ive denied God so many times..only because I wanted to fit in!! Wanting to be excepted by the world instead of God. How stupid is that?! I have some great Christian friends but Id rather hang out with those non-believers. The non-believers that pull me away from God instead of drawing me closer. The "Friends" that I do stupid things with.

At times I want to be open about my faith like so many amazing Christians! I want to be able to share the good news about Jesus. I want people to notice that I'm different(In a good way) and want to be like me. I want to be a leader not a follower...but I'm struggling.

I'm struggling with the fact that I might be turned down because of my faith. I'm scared that if I make one mistake and they know I'm a christian they wont want anything to do with God. Im scared that the world wont except me anymore....but I have to remind myself that being excepted by better then being excepted by the World.

In the end those wordly things lead to suffering and God leads to eternal life in heaven!

Teenage Commandments.

I found this in some old Catholic book about raising teenagers. I had to laugh at some of them but others are good advice.
1. Stop and think before you drink.

2. Don't let your parents down; they brought you up.
3. Be humble; obey. You'll give the orders some day.

4. Turn away from unclean thinking

5. Don't show-off when driving; it's juvenile

6. Don't go steady unless you're ready; choose a date fit for a mate.

7. Go to Church faithfully. The Creator gives you the week; give Him back an hour.

8. Avoid following the crowd. Be an engine-not a caboose.

9. Choose your companions carefully; you are what they are.

10. Best of all; keep the original Ten Commandments

I can totally see some nuns reading these out to a class full of teenagers. My Moms oldest Sister(She has 9 other siblings!) once got kicked out of a convent. No lie. They sent her home because she got in some trouble with a few friends. haha. Love my family. Not sure why they thought she should become a nun. Straight out of high school she moved to California...that's a whole other story though.

I love the random conversations my friends tend to have! They always have me laughing none stop.

Katie-Wanna go with me to the grocery store? I've been craving ravoli all day!

Brooke- Not really. Cant you just go to the gas station it's closer?

Katie- They dont sell Ravoli at the gas station!

Brooke- Yes they do! I once bought chocolate chips at a gas station!

Katie- That doesnt mean they sell Ravoli! They have frozen pizza and sandwiches...thats about it.

Brooke- Dont forget about the chocolate chips.....

Katie-Get off your ass and just come with me to the grocery store!!!

Wordle: Untitled

Ever heard of the website Wordle? You can create funky word clouds and place them on your blog! I used words from my blog...just copy and pasted my web address and the site compiled words together!

I was bored one day and randomly texted 6 of my friends the same thing saying "I LOVE YOU!" and this was the responses I got....

K- What?
Me- I felt like telling you that I love you.
K-Wow. Okay. So what are you doing tonight?

S- I love you 2...!?
Me- I felt like telling you that I love I did.
S- Oh, well I love you soooo much! What you doing?

SK- Right Person(Inside Joke)?
Me- This time it is!
SK- Yes! I love you too!

E- ya 2 girl.
Me- Thanks!!

L- Are you bored?
Me- Just a bit
L- Oh lol. I guess I love you too.

Me-Don't you mean more?
SM-No, I love you with a bigger amount of love than you love me!
Me-Doubt it but okay!

Im not sure what I would do without my friends! They put up with all my random acts and still love me!!

"Not Me" Monday

Since the beginning of my Summer I have not slept in till at least 11am on days I didn't have to work. That would just be a waste of day!

I did not stay up late last night watching re-runs of CSI:NY, Cold Case, and Without A Trace. I am not addicted to crime shows.

Orange is not my favorite color. That was just not a random fact I felt the need not to include.

"No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." -1 Corinthians 10:13

So I've slept with my contacts in for the past few nights. I know that my eyes don't react well after a few days. They burn, turn majorly red,..etc. So today I'm dealing with the consequences of something I could of easily avoided. In a few days I will mostly sleep with them in again and start the whole process over again even though I know the end result.

As sinners that's the same pattern we tend to follow. We know what we are doing is wrong but we still do it and deal with the consequence. We can only overcome this cycle with Gods help. My contact story is really a pathetic example but it's easy to understand. So many non-believers/believers (Myself included) deal with this everyday! Always remember that you can overcome any temptation God places before you whether it be as simple as sleeping with your contacts in, or drugs, alcohol,..etc.

"Happy is the man who doesn't give in and do wrong when he is tempted, for afterwards he will get as his reward the crown of life that God has promised those who love him." -James 1:12

A night with my Mom.

So my Dad and Sister are out of town for the next week which leaves me and mom. I've decided to make this week all about her. Friday night after work we headed to Bayfest. We listened to Jessie James perform and Verona Grove. We walked downtown listening to the music. I took her to a little candy shop and let her pick out anything she wanted. I loved spending alone time with my mom and I think she loves it even more because she didnt have to pay for anything!

We then went home and watched a few episodes of Degrassi. It was loads of fun and I cant wait to see what the rest of the week has in store for us.

Have you ever heard of "Deep Fried Oreo Cookies?" Well the exist and were for sale at Bayfest. Eww.

"Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."

-1 John 4:8

For me love doesn't have a definition. To everybody it's different but no matter what we should love everybody. I find myself judging others when I should be loving them instead. Think about how better the world would be if we loved each other the way God loves us. We all fall short but he still is waiting for us with open arms.

Head over to Laura's blog to read what others have to say about love and join in!

5 Question Friday

1. What do you think makes a good friend, or friendship?
I think so many things make a good friend/friendship. I have multiple best friends and we don't tend to leave that circle(Which is good/bad). They make great friends because they love me for who I am and never try to change me. They are supportive and understanding...but also are honest no matter what. We make each other laugh constantly and are always able to talk about anything.

2. What is the last thing you bought & later regretted?
Ugh! I always tend to buy something and regret it later. The first thing that comes to mind is Starbucks. I always get the same exact drink and this last time I went there I told myself I had to try something new. I ended up hating it!! Then again it was a good thing to try something new...kinda.

3. Have you ever had a prank played on you?
I'm sure someone has played a prank on me multiple times but I just don't remember..or the prank wasn't good. I'm normally the one planning months ahead for April Fools Day. I'm just waiting for the day when everybody teams up against me....

4. What is your favorite theme park?
I don't really have one. I'm not the biggest fan of them. If I had to say I guess it would be 6 Flags Great America. I love the roller coasters!!!

5. Have you ever seen someone else give birth?
On the show 16 and pregnant!! Does that count? Also we had to watch this sick birthing video in health class. It was like made in the 80s. The dad had this creepy looking moustache..and the outfits they wore before getting to the hospital...hideous!!! The whole birthing part I didn't really watch....looking at some random woman's vagina while giving birth was not something I was interested in...oh but they made sure to have the sound turned up!!

View from the tent
So about 3 weeks ago I went camping with my friends. We love camping and literally go down into a medium sized woods, dig our own fire pit, and pitch a tent. No electricity, a group of girls, and a small tent makes for some fun memories.
Grumpy Sarah in the morning

Our camp site starts at a dead end road, down a step rocky hill(It's so much fun bringing camping stuff up and down!), and around a corner. It's on the bank of a creek. So fun!!

Tired Sydney
So one night we decided that we were hungry. So he hopped on our phones and ordered a pizza. Giving them 1 out of the 4 houses addresses on this 2 mile long dead end road. I'm almost positive they thought we were crazy. We had an idea of leaving a note that told them that their money was under the rock and to set the pizza down and drive away...but we thought that would be a bit mean. So we stopped the delivery guy before he turned into this strangers drive-way, grabbed our pizza, thanked him, and walked down the scary hill to our campsite.
Syd and I with our pizza

Unwanted picture of me

Failed attempt of a group picture.

Sydney's roaring fire. Isn't it beautiful? It took weeks to get the smoke smell out of my clothes for this one...

I've been having major writers bloggers block!! It's driving me crazy. I always log on and just sit and stare at this blank page. So here are some random things..maybe this will jump start my blogging.

  • This summer has been very low key so far. I've been working a lot because I'm saving up for a car. I work for my parents which makes it a little more easy. My schedule is a lot more flexible then it would be working for somebody else.

  • I have also been watching the BACHELORETTE on Mondays!!!! Love that show. My favorite guys so far are Jesse and Ty. The weatherman seems a bit gay and Kacey has an annoying voice. Don't even get my started about Justin! I think he is fake and only looking for fame.

  • This weekend my 3 year old cousin spent two nights. I love that kid. We got a little one-on-one time while my sister was at school and my parents at work. We took a walk with my dog, played with a sprinkler, and just hung out. We also started watching the lion king, but 5 minutes before the dad died I had to turn it off. lol. My cousin wasn't happy about that but he didn't mind changing it to Scooby-Doo (Shoeby-Doo as he says). I just cant stand when animals die in movies...even though it's only a cartoon. I felt pathetic. haha
That's about all I have. Hopefully my next post will actually be about something!!!

Good Deeds Pay-Off

Today while at Starbucks I was ordering my favorite drink(Java Chip Frappachino) when someone from behind the counter knocked down a pile of coffee that was on the counter. I quickly without thinking about it started picking the bags of coffee up and then continued to order. When all of a sudden I heard "Give her the drink for free, Not many people would stop and do that!" I was really surprised to hear that. Getting a free drink was nice but the fact that no everybody would help a neighbor is kind of sad.

It was nice being rewarded for doing something good. Even if you don't get a reward for it(Majority of the time), giving a helping hand is always the right thing to do.

Five Question Friday...more like Saturday

1. If you could go back to college would you change your major? Or, if you were to go to college right now...what major would you choose?
Well I'm still in High School but in a few years I would love to get into nursing!! I want to be a neonatal nurse.

2. What do you love most about your home?
I love our island in the middle of the kitchen! I love talking with my mom when she is cooking and it's great for when people are over!

3. What types of books do you like to read (if you like to read at all)?\
I love reading!!! I just don't have much time lately. I read a variety of books, really matters what my mood is.

4. What is the grossest thing you've ever eaten?
Well I'm not very daring when it comes to food. I question everything before I eat it. So the grossest thing I have ever ate was...SUSHI!!! Eww...I had it in NYC with my best friend and this man was preparing it. It was really cool to watch him make it until he offered us a sample!! He wouldn't take "No Thank You" as an answer either! I can still taste it..disgusting.
5. If you HAD to be a character on a TV show, whom would you be?
That's a hard one...I think I would choose Rory Gilmore. I love that TV show!! Stars Hollow seems like an amazing place to live, she has a cool mom, and she is super smart with a hilarious personality!!

Simple Things.

"Seek the wisdom of the ages, but look at the world through the eyes of a child."

-Ron Wild

How often do you overlook the simple things in life? Children tend to notice every simple thing and treat it like it's the most amazing thing! We all have very busy lives but life goes to fast...we need to enjoy the simple things in life. Nothing is wrong with stopping and smelling the roses. God placed them on this earth for some reason.

So today take a second look at the simple things in life. Take things a little slower, put away your cellphone, watch the clouds, or even the stars. You will be amazed at how much you are missing!

Carpe Diem

"Carpe diem! Rejoice while you are alive; enjoy the day; live life to the fullest; make the most of what you have. It is later than you think."

I have realized this year that I need to start really enjoying the life God has blessed me with! Instead of worrying what life will bring, I'm going to embrace it all!!

"Nothing is more highly to be prized than the value of each day"

-Johann Wolfgang
