Interview with a fellow Blogger

I've skipped the past two weeks because I hadn't found anybody to interview! So I decided to interview my best friend Sarah who writes The Insites of the Ignorant. If you would like to be featured on my blog shoot me an email or comment. Id love to come up with some questions to ask you!

1.When did you start blogging and why?
I started blogging just over two weeks ago because writing is one of my favorite things to do! I have a school newspaper that I'm on, but last year they only printed one edition of it... which was a letdown. It's a really creative way of expression, and I'd love to meet some more people on it! I also think it will be pretty fun to look back on someday. (:

2. Do you have a favorite blog that you follow?
Yes I do. It's called "The Teen Blog". Ever heard of it? :P But there are a number of blogs that I really love. I've been reading Life As A Shutterbug, which is a website with (you guessed it!) a lot of photography on it. Another blog that I always have to check is Emily's Cancer Blog. She just had a baby sister, Faith!

3. What has been your favorite thing about blogging?
My favorite part of blogging is the weird relationships that bloggers have with each other. It's complicated to understand, but it's as if people hold a lot more respect for each other when blogging than people do on other sites. I think that's because it takes a certain type of person to actually want to blog, take the time out for it, and to actually care about listening to what other people might have to say.

4. So I hear you have an awesome friend named Rae!!! Just how awesome is she?
Well, I don't know... she sure was mocking me today! But yes, I have to say, she is awesome. Especially because Rae plans to go to Snowball with me this year! :D

5. After you graduate high school(With me!) what do you want to be?
I want to go to college to study Psychology... and then I want to do something with it! What, I'm not so sure yet. So far, the idea that appeals to me most is to go to a city that's in need of some structure for their youth, and provide it! Through a youth center, I could hopefully help people to use Activities, Athletics, and the Arts as an outlet. But of course, I'm sure I'll have to go to work at a different center until I can come up with the funds to do something like that!

6. What are your favorite hobbies?
My favorite hobby is acting! It's been that way from Day 1 (of my life). Unfortunately, I have a tendency to create awkward onstage moments during the final bows! Some other favorite hobbies of mine are writing, reading, and making movies at random! Frequent shopping and frivolous spending are my guilty pleasures, although SOME people may try to steal them with budgeting pie charts. :P

7. Bonus Question(Since #4 isn't exactly about you) Are you musically talented? If so, what do you play?

I would say that I am musically talented... sort of! I'm a part of my school's show choir, and my Alto voice is pretty good. I play the piano, out of necessity, because my mother is a piano teacher, and she requires me to do so. However, my best instrument is definitely the tambourine... or is it the triangle? I'm in band with Rae, and we make up the dinky instrument section of Percussion! Oh, joy.

Thanks the inside jokes you decided to throw in! Plus pie charts come in handy and Im not going to snowball!

5Q Friday

1. If you could speak with a different accent, what would it be (i.e Australian, Scottish)?
Defiantly an Irish accent. After watching the movie "P.S. I love you" I have fallen in love with Irish accents!!

2. Can you fall asleep anywhere? (i.e floor, couch, deck)
For the most part, yes. During the summer I seem to be sleeping on everything but a bed. I even spend the night on a trampoline. That was fun.

3. Do you use public restrooms? If so, do you sit on the toilet?
Yes, when you gotta go, you gotta go! I tend to hover though. I've heard to many gross stories to sit on those seats! Ewww

4. If you were stuck in an elevator for 24 hours, what celebrity would you most want to be stuck with?
Gerard Butler with his Irish accent from "P.S. I love you"!!! I really need to watch that movie again soon!

5. Where did you & your significant other go on your 1st date?
Don't have a significant other. My favorite date ever was camping with a group of friends. Oh I miss summer!

Even with this school year starting out horrible, Im glad that I still have my friends to lean on!

I love them all and would be lost without them.
At times I question their sanity...

and then I look in the mirror.

Im so blessed to have a such a great group of girls(and a few guys) as friends

Everything Falls

I love this song! Lately it has taken a new meaning in my life.

"For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." -Isaiah 41:13

I was so ready for this school year but so far it has only been giant disappointment. So if you don't mind I need to vent.....

First off volleyball is a mess. Certain people like creating unnecessary drama which effects the whole team! Today we had 4 people quit the team. We also have the police involved in a little feud over a prank. Yes, everything is a mess and I'm sick of it.  People are taking sides and others are getting hurt. I'm a little lost on what to do. I'm friends with both of the girls involved with the police and I do have a side that I favor. I believe going to the police was overreacting and unnecessary. I don't want to lose a friend over it either!

Second my friends parents are throwing around the thought of divorce. I want so bad to comfort her but I've never been in her situation. I don't know how to react or what to say.

That's all the venting I have. So how was your day?

Maria: "I LOVE HEATH LEDGER! We're talking about Heath Ledger, right?"

Dru: "No Maria, We're talking about Albert Einstein..."

Wow, I just noticed how smart my friends are!!

Best Friends

I feel so lucky to have found some amazing christian friends in high school!! We are so different yet so alike. Syd is quite while nobody can get Sarah to keep her mouth closed. Chelsey is a tomboy while Shannon is a wild girly-girl mix. At times we are 3 year olds in teenagers bodies. Is it weird that my friend jammed her finger and asked me to kiss it? For most that's considered weird. For us...that's just how we roll. haha

They are my strange, incredible, amazing, beautiful, fantastic, irreplaceable best friends...that I wouldn't trade for the world!!

Part 3- Hotel Room

So while in Chicago we decided to get a hotel room and spend the night! Well hotel rooms are a bit on the pricey side so we got the cheapest one we could find in the city....
Four girls+Tons of luggage= A bit crowded

Did I mentioned we were on the 15th floor?
Well we were! My friend and I decided to walk up the stairs all the way to our floor.
Worst idea ever! We were so tired when we reached the top it was ridiculous.
And the view was spectacular...

 See!! Beautiful, isn't it?
A nice brick building going down into an alley you cant see from the 15th story!

Well thats all I got from our trip to Chicago!
I hope you got to experince some of the city through my eyes!

Bring on the GOLD

Did you know that 12,500 children are diagnosed with cancer each year?

On the average, 1 in every 4 elementary school has a child with cancer. The average high school has two students who are a current or former cancer patient. In the U.S., about 46 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer every weekday. That's about two classrooms full of students,  diagnosed every week day.

It is responsible for more deaths in children than any other disease - more than asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis and AIDS combined.

Yet it remains vastly under-funded and under-supported, even by the most well-known research organizations.

The first step to finding a cure for these life threatening diseases is to understand that they exist, that these illnesses affect real children and devastate their families. These children live in our communities and go to the school down the street. These children are connected to us and are a part of our lives.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month...bring on the GOLD!

It is said: When you lose your parents you are an orphan. When you lose your spouse you are a widow(er). There is no name for a parent who loses their child because it is just too unspeakable.

Wear Gold for the children and parents that are suffering from this horrible disease!

Part 2- The Entertainment

Chicago is filled with these to see and do! Every corner you turn something new and exciting is waiting.

Lake Michigan!! So cold but so fun. The waves were huge and they were fun to play in.
My feet were so cold in this picture!
The cars!!! Every street you would pass amazing cars from mustangs, to Porsche's, to this Italian car! It was amazing.
The food was amazing too! We stopped by a cute little pizza joint. They had amazing pizza!
The facebook/twitter updating was very entertaining! This is my friend Chelsey by the way. She agreed to join my family and I on this little adventure! Brave one she is
Oh the Chicago Cubs! Myself being a Tampa Bay Rays fan(Can you guess why?) I wasn't very excited to see the Stadium but it looked cool!
Outside the Stadium they had bleachers on the roof tops of buildings! It was crazyy looking!
These boys were very talented! The played with drum sticks and buckets. It sounded amazing! It was really cool watching and hearing them play.
Real life statue. This guy didn't move an inch! I could of swore he was solid and built there. If enough people would drop money into his bucket. He would start dancing like a robot and could make a cool robot noise from his mouth!

Chicago has so much more entertainment! I love this city.

Chicago Part 1- The City

I have so many pictures to share so I thought I would break them up into different parts.

Warning- Picture Overload!!!
So we left my town around 6:30am and arrived in Chicago at 10:30am. After a few detours we eventually made it into the city!
It brought back memories of New York City! All the tall buildings and the hustle and bustle of the city life.

Once we found a parking spot(Which took forever! Parking is expensive) we decided on shopping! We stopped by H&M, Blooming dales, Marshall's, Macy's, The Disney Store, and so many more places. By shopping I mean looking at prices and dreaming of buying a $895 burberry coat! Crazy, I wouldn't mind having that kind of money to blow.
Later that night we got a hotel right in the city!! We were on the 15th floor but more on that in part 2...or 3.
After walking and enjoying the city till about 10pm. We headed up to our hotel room. After realizing our wi-fi was so slow! My friend and I decided to walk to the nearest Starbucks while my mom and sister stayed at the hotel. We had quite a few to choose from, they were on every corner!
After an hour of dealing with two crazy chicks sitting next to us! We decided to hit up the nearest McDonald's. Much to our surprise this McDonald's was huge! It had an escalator going up to the second floor which had a great view.
Apparently people in Chicago even dress up to eat at McDonald's! We were surrounded by high heels and skimpy little dresses.

It was a great day/night!! We soon walked to our hotel, took the elevator up to the 15th floor, and crashed!
