5 Question Friday

1. If you could be a fly on any wall, which would you choose?
This is a difficult decision! I'm going to have to go with David Beckham house!! Wow, that made me sound like a total creeper...

2. Do you budget your Christmas shopping or just get it done without budgeting?
Not really. Whatever I've saved up(or my parents hand me) is what I spend. I'm the person that normally has your present picked out in my mind months before I even consider shopping.

3. What is the craziest fad diet you have ever done?
I have never been on any diet in my life...yet!

4. Is there a TV show that you have seen every episode/season of?
A few to many to admit, lets see.....Gilmore Girls, Degrassi:The Next Generation, Desperate Housewives, Brothers and Sisters, Teen Mom, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Gossip Girl...and I'm working on Greys Anatomy.

I swear I don't have a problem!

5. What one song always pulls at your heart?
You're Gonna Miss This- Trace Adkins
I'm sure there is plenty more songs but recently this song has stuck out.

Any guess what this is and why I have it on my lamp?

Today I was looking in at my blog stats and came across "Search Keywords." Apparently people typed in these things and ran across my blog. It was really interesting.

1. teen blogs

2. theteenblog

3. mckmama lachlan

4. toy story

5. toy story buzz

6. volleyball blogspot teenagers

7. woody toy story

8. rae the teen blog

9. teenie.blogspot

10. "foot surgery"

I was really surprised how many toy story related things linked to my blog. I also found it creepy that someone used my name to find my blog!

Mary had a little lamb.....

Today I was walking around my house and the song "Mary had a little lamb" popped into my head. So I started singing it since I was home alone.....and this is how it went....

~~~Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, Mary had a little lamb.....and that lambs coat was white as snow!?~~~
I was in shock, and horror! How could a person forget that simple of a song?
I then googled the lyrics......
Mary had a little lamb,
little lamb, little lamb,
Mary had a little lamb,
whose fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
Mary went, Mary went,
and everywhere that Mary went,
the lamb was sure to go.
It followed her to school one day
school one day, school one day,
It followed her to school one day,
which was against the rules.
It made the children laugh and play,
laugh and play, laugh and play,
it made the children laugh and play
to see a lamb at school.
And so the teacher turned it out,
turned it out, turned it out,
And so the teacher turned it out,
but still it lingered near,
And waited patiently about,
patiently about, patiently about,
And waited patiently about
till Mary did appear.
"Why does the lamb love Mary so?"
Love Mary so? Love Mary so?
"Why does the lamb love Mary so,"
the eager children cry.
"Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know."
The lamb, you know, the lamb, you know,
"Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know,"
the teacher did reply.
I didn't even know that song had that many verses!!!
 I blame my parents for depriving me of knowing these things...
Unless they ask I don't even bother telling people my age. On my blog I don't say my age, my grade(I mention I'm in high school)or anything like that. Sure, privacy is one of my reasons but it's not my main reason.
My main reason because people treat you differently.
On my blog for example. A had a girl have email me because she felt the same way about something I wrote about. We connected and when we emailed back and forth for a while and it was like a typical friendship(except we had never met). Until she asked what grade I was I told her. Things just haven't been the same since. Instead of talking about things we struggle with..she tries acting like a mom! She calls me hun/honey. She went from "I'm so glad I'm not the only one" to "You shouldn't do the things I do!" Seriously?
How can I be someone you talk to like a friend and once you find out I'm 4 years younger I become the clueless kid!? Oh and by the way I'm a year younger then the average person in my grade!! Going to start talking to me like I'm in elementary school now?
Show us your life- Kids Rooms
I'm a bit late in posting this but better late then never! This weeks theme is Kids room. Head on over to Kellys blog to see more rooms!
This is the entrance to my room. To the right is my closet..which isn't that exciting. And look I made my bed just for you!! That is a rare site just to tell ya.
This is looking in from my entrance.
Of course I'm watching the Packers Vs. Vikings game!
Isn't David Beckham beautiful!? I get to look at that every time I walk into my room!
This is my duct tape wall.  I started it a few years ago and I just keep adding little quotes, random sayings, inside jokes..etc. I love when my friends add something!
Yes, I allow people to write one my walls with duct tape and fabric paint!
This is what I see while standing on my bed looking down.
This is wear I stuffed all my clothes that were on my floor before taking this picture!
I love my bookshelf!! It's literally falling apart because I have so many books fit into it!
My night stand. I'm reading Sherlock Holmes!
I've been spending a lot of time at Starbucks this week. I bring my laptop, order a java chip, and surf the internet. It's a perfect setting to just blog or go on facebook. It's definitely getting pricey...Starbucks ain't cheap but it's well worth it!
 I'm actually suppose to be at my schools volleyball game but my friend and I risked our lives and walked the 2 miles to our beloved Starbucks.This is much better then watching volleyball on this bleachers! Did i mention that my friend made us take a wrong turn and we ended up in the ghetto? Well it happened and I had to find our way back because she was completely lost! Don't worry we made it to Starbucks...if you didn't know!
Well Goodbye for now....I'm going to have a conversation with my best friend Shannon!
5 Question Friday
1. Who is the better cook, you or your spouse?
I'm not married but I'm a horrible cook! Ever burn water? Well I have!!
2. How often do you talk to your mom?
Everyday! I'm really close with my Mom and I hope it stays that way forever! She is one of my best friends while still being just my Mom.
Yes! I'm cursed with my second toe being extremely long!
10 types of Friends
We all(well at least I hope) have best friends or maybe just a single best friend. Lucky for me I have found multiple best friends with so many different types of personalities. I was recently reading a blog called "10 Types of Odd Friends we had as teens!" I'm still a teen and I was going over my friends and seeing if they fit any of the category's...and yes the majority of them do fit the list!
1) Hanger-Oner- That kid who just would not leave you alone.
I actually don't have a friend that is not a "Hanger-Oner" unless I consider my sister part of my friends group. I'm sure eventually I will.
2) Frenemy- The person that you pretend to like but secretly hate.
I have way to many "friends" like that! Well not exactly friends I go to a small school I kind of am stuck being friends with them. My spanish class I sit behind a girl that is a b**** and I know she doesn't like me. But we have this pretend friendship that we both know doesn't really exist. Well we swap spanish answers..that's about where our friendship ends.
3) The You’re-Cooler-Than-Me Friend- The way cool, smart, funny, attractive and certainly way cooler  than you friend. That for some reason choices you for a friend.
Strange enough one of my best friends is like this! Her name is Shannon. Guys like her, girls get along with her, and everybody thinks she is just the cutest thing alive. Sometimes I wonder how we ended up being best friends.
4) Make-Me-Feel-Good-About-Myself-Friend- The pretty, but not prettier than me best friend
 I do/don't have this friend.This could make someone sound really mean but I do have a few friends not in my close circle that I feel would fit here. In my close group of friends though I feel like they all have a specific prettiness that cant be compared with one another. I guess I just haven't been told "You are pretty" by anybody randomly.
5) Wingman or Wingwoman- Typically a best friend. Who you always went on doubles, blind dates, got in trouble with and went to dances with because we always got along well.
I have a lot of Wingwoman but mostly I would consider Shannon, Elisebeth, Sarah, and Syd in this group. I could see myself getting in trouble with these girls and them being right by my side no matter what. Unless you decided to sneak somewhere late at night...then Syd and Sarah would chicken out but Shannon would stay close to you!
6) Homework Friend- This does not have to be someone smarter than you (or a cheater-friend), this is someone who teens all have to go to when they need to make a study guide, plan a study session or as a homework problem.
Olivia is my homework friend. Without each other we wouldn't survive geometry or drafting. We are constantly helping each other out but that's as far as the friendship goes.
7) Secret Bitch/ Secret Bully- Secret bitches (female) or secret bullies are similar to frenemies in that they are nice to you in person, but are different because they don’t want to be your friend, they just want to know you enough to make fun of you behind your back.
I have dealt with these people before but I must admit I've been this person too. Especially in middle school with this one to be unnamed girl. I guess our whole class was to her but still being classified as this is not good!
8) PE/Math/Science Friend- This is the friend that you have in that one class or club and you hang out pretty much exclusively when you are in that environment, but nowhere else.
This new girl named Kayla seems nice but I only hang out with her in my gym class.
9) Family Friend- This friend is who your parents want you to be best friends with/marry because the parents are best friends.
My friend Lindsey totally fits this category! Our dads went to high school together and introduced us a few years ago. We hit it off right away and now consider ourselves best friends. Our dads said it was a cool experience seeing their daughters be as close and they were.
10) Used-to-be-elementary-school-friend-but-don’t-really-have-anything-in-common-anymore- Oh, these are awkward. You used to climb trees together, you had a Ya-Ya Sisterhood handshake and have really cute pictures of the two of you in a bathtub together, but it just isn’t the same anymore. They are a jock and you are a band geek, but you still say ‘hi’ in the halls and invite each other to your birthday parties. Mom and dad will forever be asking you, “how is your old friend ___, you used to be so close!”
My friend Victoria and Jame. We were all best friends from 1st-5th grade and when we went to separate schools things changed. Every once in a while we would run into another, promise to hang out soon, and forget about each other till the next run in. I ended up meeting up with Jamie back in high school but we had found new best friends and things never went back to normal.
11) Separated at birth- The best friend that should of been your sister.
Her name is Shannon, she was born in china, but I still insist we were separated at birth. When going somewhere with her my parents always ask "Does Shannon need money too?" and of course she always does. We fight like sisters and everybody knows we are best friends. People call us Salt and Pepper.
So do your friends fit any of these categories?
The Weekend
This weekend was a lot of fun!
My friends invited me to my own sleepover at my house. We had intended to go to our school football game but then decided last minute we didn't want to go. Instead we danced to music, talked about life, and just had some fun girl time! At the end of the night 3 of my friends fell asleep on my twin bed and kicked me and my other friend out on the ground!
Next day we had to wake up bright and early for a day of volleyball! Varsity ended up winning in a crazy way but it was all good...since we won the conference championship!
When we got home my friends eventually all left and I headed out again. Had a movie night with one of my best friends Katie and a few other people!
It has been an amazing weekend so far!!
How is yours going?
For the better....maybe
People change...things change. You move on and live life. Well lately I've noticed this cycle happening to my friends.
For me it hit hard in middle school and slowed down in high school. Who I have become I'm not the most proud of but luckily I think I have pressed the "stop" button finally. I'm slowly reclaiming who I am...I just had a few to many detours along the way. For the rest of my friends it seems to be hitting them all recently. They are making those life changing decisions and I'm not sure what to think about it. Some have changed for that better, others for the worst, and a few I'm undecided on. I really don't like change!
"People often change for two reasons: either you've learned enough that you want to change or you've been hurt enough that you need to."
Stepping Up
Last Friday at school(I go to a Christian High School) we had an amazing chapel. It was about going out of your comfort zone and sharing your faith. It really got me thinking about how I show that I'm a christian.
 Truth be told...I suck at it.
I gossip about people I don't like, do things that I know are wrong, text during church when I should be listening, and so many other things! I don't even like sharing my faith with others! I'm afraid that I'll get shot down or they wont like me anymore. I know that I should only care about what God thinks but that is so hard!
I'm almost positive at first glance and even second glance I'm a poor example of what a christian should be. Maybe it's time to step out of my comfort zone and change my ways.
Warning: In this post I complain a lot..feel free to skip it!
This day hasn't been the greatest. I didn't get any sleep last night and then had to get up early for church.
 Then I was bored and decided to text me friend. In response she decides to blow up at me and wouldn't tell me what I did. After yelling at me for not being a good friend she finally tells me what I apparently did. I was innocent and told her that. Then she starts complaining about a completely different thing. So I'm guessing she is trying to find a reason to be mad at me and failing miserably. I'm ignoring her phone calls and texts at the moment. In which she is throwing the "bad friend" card out at me again. I cant win. I respond she gets mad...I ignore she gets mad. Oh joy.
I really hate drama!
Show us your life Friday- Kitchens
I decided I would participate in Kellys "Show us your life Friday!" The theme is Kitchens...
This is my kitchen view from our living room. It has an island in the middle that we use as our kitcken table. The windows look outside into our backyard but it was night when I took these pictures. We also have the patio to the left.
Above your cabinets we have electrical outlets. So we have tiny little lamps up there with antique cookie jars/tins.
This is our kitchen from the stove. It goes right into the living room. Makes family get togethers nice.
 All together I like my kitchen. I can do homework while my Mom cooks dinner. It is a nice atmosphere.
Lately I've missed being a little kid. My life has been hectic with school, drama, friends, boys, and everything in between! I miss when the worst thing you could get from boys were cooties! Your dad was your hero and Mom was the one that kissed you goodnight. Your worst enemies were your siblings!
Life was simple and care free, but what I remember most was how I always wanted to grow up! Now pot isn't just a pan in the kitchen, stds and babies are huge compared to cooties, parents never get off your case. Your siblings are becoming your best friends.
When I get hurt I wish that just one more time my dad would pick me up and hold me tight. One more night time prayer with my mom beside my bed. Heck, Id even love holes in my jeans where my knees are and grass stains all over my clothes!
Sometimes I wish I were little again because skinned knees are easier mended than broken hearts.
I'm ready to hit the rewind button......
Faciliated Diffusion
I'm suppose to be studying for English, Biology, and Spanish but instead I find myself here! No wonder people got better test scores back in the day....the Internet wasn't a distraction!
This is the question I'm stuck on....
Describe how the structure of a plasma membrane is involved in faciliated diffusion.
First, I have no idea what a faciliated diffusion is! Apparently this is preparing me for life though. I'm not exactly sure how but that's what they keep telling me! Seriously, why do we have to learn such pointless stuff in school? Think of how fast we could finish school if the subtracted out all of the useless things they teach us.
So that's all I have to say on this fine post. Back to studying pointless things that I will forget right after I finish taking the test....
Have a great night!
Oh Shannon.....
                                    "What wonderful things the future has brought us!" -Shannon
That was her reaction after we introduced her to the smoothie/milkshake machine at the gas station!
5 Question Friday
I thought I wasnt going to be able to participate in 5 Question Friday today!! Im in Michigan with my volleyball team at a hotel with free Wi-Fi and my laptop!! So 5 Question Friday here I come....
1. Did you have a pen pal when you were little (or now)? Where were/are they from?
In second grade I remember having a pen pal. It was something we did as a class. Mine was from Iowa, I think. I don't even remember his name...I wish I did though! It would be cool to find him on facebook or something. Does that sound creeper(ish)?
2. If you could do a different job for one day, what would it be?
Well I work in a Consignment Shop during the summer. I think it would be cool to be a model or something like that.
3. Do you remember your biggest fear from when you were little?
I was afraid of the dark! Typical, I know but that's one of the fears I remember.
4. What do you think is a waste of time? Why?
School....well school is good but some of the things we learn are pointless!! Like geometry...worst subject ever! It's like english/math class all together. I'm never going to use that in life unless I become a math teacher!
5. What is the oldest item you have in your closet?
Well I'm not that old but I do have a pair of pink high tops that I wore to my 1st birthday party!
I know this strange girl....
and she just happens to be one of my best friends......
Rumor has it that she has a blog....
that she wouldn't give me the web address too!!!
So after stalking my blog forever.....she got sloppy in hiding her blog.
Sorry for the red eye. I'm lazy and don't feel like editing photos today!
                              Which led to me finding it and posting the web address on my blog!!
                                           Check out Sarah's sweet new blog right here!!!
