Random thought of the day

I was talking with my friend Andrea recently. She brought up one embarassing story, then I told another embarassing story, and we just kept going back and forth.

Man, I have a lot of embarassing stories! Ive also witnessed a lot of embarassing moments too.

God must have a blast watching us humans. All of the stupid/hilarious things that happen to us.

And that is my random thought of the day.

I thought Id throw in a random picture to go with my random thought.

The post where I brag a bit

Sometimes I think its to good to be true.

Other times I think I'm dreaming.

Most of the time I'm realizing how lucky I am!

He knows I have strange quirks( like having an opinion on every house I see) but he works with them.

My parents love him and my friends approve, which makes him even better!

"We fit together so well...it's like pieces of a puzzle, the way your hand fits the curve of my hip and the way my head rests on your shoulder, the way our hands just melt into one, and the way I feel complete when I'm with you...like the picture's finally completed and I'll never have to wonder what I'm missing"

Homecoming 2011

This past week was homecoming week at my school!
Every day we had a different theme and we dressed up to match it.
We also had two homecoming games.
Which were football and soccer.
We also had a kickball tournament between all the classes.

Sydney dressed up as Super Snap for superhero day! People call her ginger snap.

On Saturday was the homecoming dance!
We all got ready at my house.
Took pictures, drove to Fazoli's, shopped for cookie ingredients, and took pictures at Shopko.
We even had a phone go missing after we made all of these stops.

Yes, I was talking on the phone while pictures were being taken.

It was an important phone call!

After the dance we went to make cookies.
Then headed to taco bell!
In which we met up with our new taco bell friend!
He let us in the closed lobby.
Then allowed us to literally walk through the drive-thru.
We almost got pulled over by a cop too.
Thank goodness he wasnt after us!

This homecoming has topped all other homecomings!
We all agreed on that.
We made memories that will last us a lifetime.
Shed a few tears.
Danced like it was going out of style.

Sister picture

Homecoming 2011 is one for the books.
We had a blast.
Makes me sad that we only have one homecoming left.
But we are full steam ahead for an amazing year.

Embarassing pictures

I think its important to laugh at yourself.
I tend to do this often when looking at pictures.
Enjoy...and feel free to laugh at them too!

I hoped you enjoyed seeing all of these fabulous, embarrassing pictures.
I'm sure there will be more to come in the near future.

Homecoming, rocky week, and everything in between.

  • Pep Rally today at school.

  • Football game tonight with friends.

  • Homecoming tomorrow night.
Enjoying every(or at least almost every) thing high school has to offer!

Things have been a bit rocky at school lately. Typical drama. I'm hoping that homecoming with fix that for a while and we can all move on.

Ive also found out that whenever I get mad I feel like typing up a blog post! Good thing I leave myself a cooling down period otherwise it would not be good.

3/4 have gone down. <----Ill explain that later. I really only thought these things happen in books or in movies. Apparently I was really sheltered as a child when it came to things like this.

Boaz

I found this on facebook and thought I would share it!
To all the girls who are in a hurry to have a boyfriend or get married, a piece of biblical advice: "Ruth patiently waited for her mate Boaz." While you are waiting on YOUR Boaz, don't settle for any of his relatives; Broke-az, Po-az, Lyin-az, Cheating-az, Dumb-az, Drunk-az, Cheap-az, Lockedup-az, Goodfornothing-az, Lazy-az, and especially his third cousin Beatinyo-az. Wait on your Boaz and make sure he respects Yoaz

My foreign exchange student

I learned she was staying at my house, a day before she arrived.
I wasn't very happy at first but I'm starting to like her a lot!
Her name is Beaut(like the beginning of beautiful with a silent 't')
She is from Thailand.

She is excited to be here!

The last original

This week it has hit me that I'm growing up. Well, of course Ive always known that I'm growing up and I wont stay a kid forever. But this week really made me notice it and made me a little sad.

I was chilling at my friend/neighbors house. Katie was eating lasagna, Alex(another neighbor) was eating cereal, Eric was standing in the door way, and I was texting someone. All of a sudden Alex says "Katie, you are the last original."

He was talking about the neighborhood that was once filled with kids. The neighborhood still has a few teenagers, mostly adults, and a few kids in elementary school. Everybody that I once jumped on trampolines with, went on bike rides, went swimming in Alex's pool, and spent many days with have grown up or moved away.

All that is left is Katie, Alex, and myself. And Katie is the last original.

A new generation is filling up the neighborhood. A generation that my little sister is part of.

I wonder how they will all turn out.

Today

  • Started my first class with a study hall because my tech ed teacher was gone for the day. I got to hang out with my favorite teacher and Chelsey(she has a blog too) instead because I ditched the whole study hall in the commons.

  • I failed my chemistry test(at least I think I did).

  • I'm currently at Starbucks with Chelsey. While I was typing away and Chelsey was reading her Cosmo magazine when of your substitute teachers recognized us and came to chat. Chelsey just happened to flip to the article named "Naughty Sex Tips" that had lots of pictures! And the substitute walked up behind her. Just a bit embarrassing.

  • Man, Cosmo sure knows what there readers want hence the first line of an article "You're a Cosmo reader, so we know you're interested in making sex as exciting as possible.....and something about becoming a sex ninja"

  • I wrote a blog post that mentioned sex tips and becoming a sex ninja. (I'll repent later) ha

  • I'm going dress shopping with Chelsey tonight with our foreign exchange students!

  • A man talked about sex in our school assembly today(just thought since I was on a roll I should add that little fact)

Quotes from the month

I was at a bon fire with my friends and of course Sarah came up with a great idea for entertainment!

Sarah: Do you want us to belly dance for you? Because we can!
Rae: We can?

While sitting around a bon fire the smoke and sparks were going towards Eric and I. So he leaned over to block it from getting to me(awwww).

Eric: (sparks hit his face) Ouch, just burned a freckle off!

Ways to pass germs during lunch.

Me: Are you going to eat your porkchop?
Kayla: If I can find a knife to cut it.
Me: If you dont can I have it?
Kayla: If you find a way to cut it then you can have a bite.
Me: (grabs the porkchop and bites it)
Kayla: Thats a good idea!
Chelsey: I want a bit!
Shannon: Pass the porkchop, I want a bite!
Sydney: You are so weird.

You know when you have been friends for a long time when conversations like these happen.

Me:(answers the phone) Hello?
Katie: Are you home?
Me: Yea I just got home.
Katie: Im coming over.
Me: Okay.
Katie: Whats for dinner?
Me: Im not sure.
Katie: I hope its not leftovers again.
Me: I dont think it will be.
Katie: Okay, Ill be there soon.

Wedding Crashers

Shannon: Lets crash a wedding sometime!
Rae: Ha.We should!
Shannon: So when they ask who we are we can pretend Im adopted and you are a foreign exchange student.
Rae: Or whoever walks up to us we ask what side of the family they are from first  and then we say we are from the opposite side. If two people walk up and just happen to be from different sides of the family then we say we are friends with the bride and groom.
Shannon: Thats a good idea! You really thought this out. Why did you let me blaber on about being adopted?

My friend Shannon and I discussing restaurants.

Shannon: We should go eat at Cuiep of Noodles!
Me: Whats Cup of Noodles?
Shannon: You know...the noodle place! Oh wait...I mean Noodles & Company

Shannon and I discussing our future plans.

Shannon: Lets go skydiving! Im going to propose to my husband while skydiving.
Me: You are going to propose?
Shannon: Yes, I have a schedule to stick too!
Me: (laugh)
Shannon: Arent you going to use an online dating service if you arent married by thirty?
Me: No, I plan on using artificial insemination to have a baby if I dont have a husband by the time Im thirty. Which is like picking your baby daddy online. So its a lot like you are planning!
Shannon: Our futures are looking bright!
Chelsey, Olivia, and Elisebeth: (laughing and looking at us as if we were crazy)

My new best friend for the night.

Katie: So I need you to pretend you guys are best friends and just showed up at my house!
Me: Why?
Katie: Ill fill you in later but until then go along with it!
Emily: This will be fun.
Daniel: (enters car) What are they doing here?
Katie: They just randomly showed up at my house! Right, Rae?
Rae: Yeah just randomly showed up with (whispers to the girl next to me) Whats your name?
Emily: (whispers back) Emily.
Rae: With Emily. We got bored at my house.
Emily: Yea I didnt even know Katie lived around next to...ummm her.
Daniel: (looks at us) Oh okay.

Funny softball pictures

Spring needs to come soon!

I'm having softball with drawls.

The team has been talking about the upcoming season already.
Whether we should get sweatshirts or sweatpants.
Buy softball pants or stick with our old softball pants.

Who will be pitcher, catcher, 2nd base, etc.
Very important discussions we have had!

Our catcher apparently doesn't have a left arm.
We also talked about this season will be amazing and how we cant wait for it to start!
Until then we can just look at these funny pictures of last season.

Not Me Monday

- I was not thrilled when I learned that "Not Me Monday" has returned!

- I did not have an amazing weekend! That did not include my sisters first volleyball game(that she did not win), a date with Eric, crashing my old friends party, late night spaghetti eating and babysitting with Eric, and plans for next weekend already made.

- I am not getting a foreign exchange student tonight.

- I did not spend my entire 2 study halls reading 'To Kill a Mocking Bird'.

Never Forget

Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children.
- President George W. Bush, November 11, 2001

Im ready for Autumn

While sitting at a coffee shop, in a middle of a small college town, recently it hit me!

Fall is officially here! At first I wasn't ready for summer to be over because that meant school, and the end of warm weather. But I'm finally ready for long sleeves and jackets, Starbucks holiday drink flavors, the smells, the colors, and of course the holidays that are just around the corner!

(courtsey)
Im so ready for it.

Truth is....

  • I love when you smile. Your eyes squint just a bit, you get small wrinkles on the side of your eyes, and get the cutest parenthesis around your mouth! Its one of my favorite features of yours.

  • It took me a long time to except that you had let our friendship go and moved on to new ones. I was always hoping we would be best friends forever. Ive finally decided I'm letting go too. A girl can only try so long. If you ever need a friend though, Ill be there. In my heart you will always be the girl I consider to be one of my best friends.

  • Every time I see the scars on your wrist, my heart aches. I want you to know Ill always be there, no matter what! If you ever feel like you don't have any other option, remember Id gladly hold your hands instead.

  • Im so proud of who you are becoming.

How to pitch

You first stare down the batter while showing off your muscles.

You then raise your arms and head your face for your opponent cant see your emotions.
Then bam! You pretend to charge after the batter(pretending is very vital.)
Then you grab the softball(which had been hiding) out of the glove unexpectedly.

And throw it out at the batter.

Then chase after the batter because they tried hitting the ball at you.

I sure miss softball!

More facts about me

1) I find it hard to fall asleep if its not pitch black in my room. Night lights, hallway lights, lights from my DVD player all drive me crazy when Im trying to sleep. And to think I was once afraid of the dark!

2) I love when my toe nails are painted.

3) I'm not a very emotional person yet I wish I was.

4) I don't like parks.

5) I have a hard time staying mad at people. Which is a good thing except when I want to stay mad at that person. ha

6) My favorite color was once blue. Until my little sister decided to claim blue as her favorite color. So when we would get something similar my parents would by a blue version and another color version. I always tended to not get blue so I changed my favorite color to orange. Guess who's favorite color is orange now! Oh the life of having a sibling.

7) During softball season I stop biting my nails.

8) I once claimed that I wasn't a creative person until I looked around my room recently and decided I had some creativity. About time!

9) I don't like dipping my oreos in milk.

10) When I was younger I had the movie Parent Trap(the one with Lindsey Lohan) memorized word for word. My friend and I could do the handshake and we would reenact scenes while the happened(like Meredith falling into the water, etc.)

Yesterday

Yesterday was a good day.

At first I didn't think it was going too. My day began with my alarm clock not going off at the proper time. Leaving me rushing to get dressed for my 9 o'clock breakfast plans. I managed to lose my glasses, hit my head with the fridge door(yes, I was closing the door and forgot to move my head), and to top it all off Eric ended up being 5 minutes early!

It got better though.

I went to a coffee shop that I had never been to before with Eric. Coffee shops and small cafes with character is our thing. We laugh, we talk, we dream about what the future holds, all while drinking our coffee(I got a drink called the Funky Monkey) and admiring how cool the brick walls look against the hard wood floor. We watched as the rain fell hard against the streets and the wind was blowing like crazy.

Eric had to go to work and I had to locate my trash bins. The wind had taken mine(and every single one of my neighbors) trash bins and scattered them across the road, in random peoples yards, and in the field. I quickly grabbed the closest one. I then went to pick my sister up from school. I ran into my softball coach and discussed softball related things. Then off to the community center my sister and I went!

I ran. She swam. I jumped rope. She went down the water slide.

I had to babysit at 4:30.

My favorite quote of the night came from the boy I babysat.

"I don't play baseball anymore because I had to wear a cup (leans in and whispers) on my private parts"

I love little kids!

Speeding=Good

I was always told that with age comes wisdom. My Grandma gave me the perfect example this week!

Grandma: (reading sign) The speed limit is 45.
Me: Yes and I'm speeding a bit.
Grandma: That's good!

I was driving home with my friend and we were about to drive past a dead possum.

Katie: Hey Rae, you know how a possum will fake being dead?
Me: Yeah.
Katie: Well that one over there is actually dead.

I was spending the night at my friend Shannon's house. She was laying in bed sniffling because she had a cold. I was bored so I decided to breathe loudly threw my nose because she couldn't.

Shannon: What are you doing?
Me: Enjoying able to breathe through my nostril's.
Shannon: Its rude breathing threw your nostril's.
Me: Oh really?
Shannon: Yes, especially around people that cant.

Sarah trying to convince me to stay in spanish for the third year. Which was a big FAIL.

Sarah: You'll be able to go to different countries and speak spanish with them!
Me: (laugh) I cant even properly make a sentence and Ive had spanish for the past two years.
Sarah: Yes you can! We can do this!
Me: Pretend I speak spanish and have a conversation with me, right now.
Sarah: Mi llamo pollo y arroz....arroz y pollo? Mi llamo arroz y pollo? No, mi llamo arroz y pollo. (smiles)
Me: (bursts out laughing)
Sarah: Crap! I mean Mi gusta pollo y arroz! My name is certainly not chicken and rice.
Me: I once ate at a place called Pollo Tropical.
