5 Question Friday

1. What's the oldest piece of clothing in your closet?
Probably my Moms old wind pant suit. ha Sometimes I like pulling it out and wearing it just for a laugh. Its super comfy! I'm positive its older than me though.

2. How many random blog readers have you met?
Zero. Zip. Nada.

3. Do you let your kids stay up till midnight on New Years Eve? (Or, if you don't have kiddos yet, did you get to stay up until midnight as a child?)
I remember being little and watching the ball drop on TV in between my parents in bed. Not sure when that started but I was fairly young.

4. What are the gas prices where you live?
$3.25. Which is pretty cheap compared to prices recently.

5. What is one resolution that you know you should do but are too afraid to try?
Ummm....probably to stay in better shape and eat more healthy food. I know I'm young and shouldn't be worrying about that but I think its important to get into a good routine. One of these days all those calories are going to end up in my butt, gut or thighs. Not something I want to deal with!

Onion Rings

1)I love when people just get you. When they completely understand and don't judge you. I recently had one of those moments where you just kind of spill everything to someone. It felt good and was much needed!

2) Working out is over rated. Can someone get me a cheeseburger?

3) Since we are on the food topic. I have been craving onion rings recently! I have always hated them but something happened recently. Cheeseburger with a side of onion rings, please!

4) Yesterday while driving to the mall we were behind a white car. My friend Katie pointed out that the guys were wearing "Amish" hats. So she decided to follow them around in the very busy mall parking lot. She was right. They were wearing clothes that Amish people wear.

5) I'm sitting in the lobby of the community center and I just overheard this conversation.
Little boy: Can you swim?
Little girl: Of course I can swim! I am eight years old. I can do everything!

She has a lot to learn...

6) Im going ice skating today!

Well I'm off to go find me some onion rings and possibly a pack of gum. They leave your breath smelling wonderful!

Chinese Food

Christmas has come and gone once again. Every year it seems to come and go faster and faster. I didn't even bake cookies or decorate this year! I just need to remind myself that Christmas is all about the birth of Christ and that alone should make me enjoy the day.

I had Christmas lunch at a truck stop on the way home from Chicago, a bowl of ice cream for dinner, and then ordered Chinese for a late night snack. Then I read an article that said "Its not Christmas unless you have a spiral cut ham on the table." Maybe next year?

Chicago was amazing though! I was there from Friday-Sunday. We had an awesome view from the12th floor of our hotel. I was within walking distance of five Starbucks. I really hope to live in a big city one day! I loved being able to go out and walk anywhere. Lots of different places to eat and lots of shopping! I have been to Chicago enough that I know my way around for the most part. Which made it even more fun.

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas!

Christmas Break

Christmas break is finally here! I'm so grateful for this much needed break. We also finally got some snow! It was a light dusting but still snow! About time. I live in Wisconsin for goodness sake. Snow is our middle name. Well, not really, but you know what I mean.

My family and I are heading to Chicago for Christmas. I'm really excited! I love the big city and I love crowds during the holiday season. Perfect combination. Maybe it will snow in Chicago and I will get a white christmas!

Well, Im heading off to go see New Years Eve.

Illegal u-turn

I have had an interesting weekend. It began with having a Christmas party at my house. We exchanged gifts, ate ice cream, watched a few movies, and did typical girl things. ha It was fun.

Then on Saturday on my way to work my Mothers car decides to stop working on the high way. My Daddy came to my rescue. He made an illegal u-turn on the high way and had a cop follow him to me. He just got a warning and everything ended up okay!

The view in my rear view mirror was one I never wanted to see again.

That same day I had my Moms family Christmas. I LOVE my family. I laughed so much with them. Apparently my Uncle and his girlfriend of 10 years are finally getting married next December. About time! I forget they aren't married. I'm looking forward to the wedding. Solely for the reception. My family knows how to party! ha

I then crashed on Andreas couch watching Friday Night Lights. We are heading to a football party tomorrow. Go Packers!

Study hall

This semester I didnt have any classes with 2 of my best friends. It really forced me to go out of my comfort zone and talk with people I dont normally talk with. Then 6 hour study hall came along!
It is my favorite time of day! I have so much fun at our table! We do mad libs on Drew's iPad, play with a talking Kitten, also on Drew's iPad. Its also gossip central which isn't always a good thing but its interesting. The only bad thing about that study hall is that I get nothing done!

Ive gotten to know my classmates in ways I would not have. I'm going to miss this study hall next semester. I'm kind of dreading next semester already even though it means I get to have more classes with friends.

I have many memories of riding in the car with my Dad while listening to country music. He loved country music and still does. I could care less about music back then. Around 6th grade I started getting into music. Mainly country because that's what I grew up with. Apparently country music isn't what the 'cool' kids listened to so I stopped listening to country and went to pop. Every once in a while I would listen to country music but would always let peer pressure steer me towards pop music. Somehow over the years my ipod has more country songs then anything other genre though.

So here is my confession.....I LOVE country music. Even if none of the cool kids like it. I love it so much that during study hall I listen to country music on my laptop. Chelsey(my country music loving buddy!) and I work better with background music!

Easy- Rascal Flatts

The truth is
That I miss lyin' in those arms of his
But I don't ever let it show
I laugh and I act like
I'm having the time of my life
as far as he knows

I don't want this night to end- Luke Bryan

You got your hands up
You're rocking in my truck
You got the radio on
You're singing every song
I'm set on cruise control

I need you- Tim McGraw

I need you
Like a lighthouse on the coast
Like the father and the son needs the holy ghost
I need you

She let herself go- George Strait

He wondered how she'd take it when he said goodbye
Thought she might do some cryin' lose some sleep at night
But he had no idea when he hit the road
That without him in her life she'd let herself go
Let herself go on a single's cruise to Vegas once then to Honolulu
Let herself go to New York City
A week at the spa came back knocked out pretty
When he said he didn't love her no more she let herself go

Somethin' bout a truck- Kip Moore

Something about a girl in a red sundress
With an ice cold beer pressed against her lips
In that farmer's field, will make a boy a man
Something about a girl in a red sundress

Tattoos on this town- Jason Aldean

There's still black marks on that county road,
where we drag raced our pick ups, and mustangs
And weathered on the summer rain
And to this day up on that overpass,
even underneath the new paint,
you can still see, Allie will you marry me?

Crazy Girl- Eli Young Band

Crazy girl, don't you know that I love you?
I wouldn't dream of going nowhere
Silly woman come here let me hold you
Have I told you lately I love you like crazy, girl?

All of these songs have a similar theme but still are completely different. They have the cutest lyrics! Seriously, I think if you listen to these songs you might start liking country a bit more...

Fridges and Twitter

Watching Friday Night Lights, drinking Starbucks, and blogging. I love weekends in which I have no real plan. This has been the case for the past two weeks. I love it! ha I'm such a homebody.

In other news, I'm almost done Christmas shopping! I only have one more person to buy for. Which has not been easy. I have no idea what to get him! Any suggestions on what to get a 19 year old guy?

Did you know you can buy a fridge with wifi? You can apparently tweet from your fridge or listen to Pandora. All while getting crushed ice! ha  Who ever thought that would be a good idea?

See, I wasnt kidding!

5 Question Friday

1. What is your favorite Christmas cookie?
I'm not a cookie fan! But if I must choose I would go with sugar cookies. I remember making them with my friend Alicia when I was like 6 and all I can remember about that experience was that the cookie dough was AMAZING!

2. What's your favorite holiday movie & why?
I think its a tie between How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Elf.

3. Is there a gift that you bought for your kids that you wish you hadn't after they opened it?

No kids for this one.

4. What is the messiest room in your house right at this moment?
I'm thinking its a tie between my sisters room, her play room, and the family room. Both of which my sister has decided to make her own. They are full of crap toys. My room on the other hand is spotless......

5. What is the furthest you have driven for the holidays?
According to mapquest my Aunts house in Idaho is 1467.62 miles away from my house. Man, the drive did not seem that long! Then again I was in 3rd grade and I dont remember the drive very much.

I have flaws.

"Consider how hard it is to change yourself and you'll understand what little chance you have in trying to change others" -Unknown

I love love love this quote!

I recently was complaining about one of my friends(dont worry it wasnt any of you who read my blog). I wanted her to stop acting the way she was and I was getting tired of trying to change her!

Then along came the quote above.

I have flaws. Just like everyone else. Trying to get rid of some of those flaws would be really difficult for me! So why would I think that trying to change someone else was going to work?

Really makes me look into the mirror at all of my flaws. A flaw of mine is judging others. Time to attempt to change that.

Sleeping on the floor

A week ago on Wednesday we had a half day! I'm not even sure why they wanted us to come to school any way. We had an hour and forty-five minute first hour class. Then watched a movie in the gym the rest of the day.

A bunch of us brought pillows and blankets to sleep on for the movie. During first hour however my friend Chelsey and I decided to take a nap on the spanish rooms floor. I was so comfortable! I only woke up a few times when my old spanish teacher(Im not in spanish anymore) would say "Shhh they are sleeping!" Then we got waken up by an announcement to get to the gym for the movie. So a dragged our blankets to the gym and crashed on the floor next to the whole school. We watched Facing the Giants.

This is one of the reasons why I love my school. What students are allowed to sleep on the floor during first hour?

Study hall person: Hi. (places clipboard on table) Im suppose to have you sign in and out when you leave study hall.
The table: Okay
Study hall: Can you just write some names and times real quick? I dont want them to think Im breaking the rules.

5 Question Friday

1. What is your favorite Christmas decoration in your house?
We have a felt calender that counts down the days till Christmas. I always loved changing the days when I was younger!

2. Do you finish your Christmas shopping early or are you a last minute type?
I'm the last minute type person. This year Ive been doing pretty good but I'm not completely done. I'm guessing Christmas eve will sneak up on me soon though.

3. When do you turn on your heat?
If it was up to me, the heat would of turned on the minute fall began. I hate being cold. My Mom controls the thermostat though meaning the heat is rarely turned on. Whenever I complain about being cold my mom says "Then put some clothes on" apparently my winter jacket and snow pants aren't considered clothing to her. ha

4. Do you ever wish your blog was private?
Yes, all the time! Sometimes I just want to vent without hurting someones feelings or speak my mind without offending someone.

5. Do you put your deodorant on before of after you put on your shirt?
Matters how much time I have. I dont really have a set time for puting on deodorant. It gets on eventually though.
