Bad week

Im having a strange week. For some reason Im attracting the weirdest guys ever!

Incident #1

The one time I wear a cut off t-shirt it ends badly. I went to the truck stop to eat with my friend Katie. While I was paying an old guy(60 or older) says "You're lucky little lady that you are wearing a tube top(modern day term-blue sports bra) under that t-shirt. It doesnt cover much. Leaves a nice view though!" Eww!!!! Never again. Im going to wear the baggiest sweatshirt I can find the next time I go there.

Incident #2

At work I was working at the front desk. A guy, who looked about twenty-five, asked for a piece of paper. On his way out the door he hands me the paper and says "My names Jamie and here is my number. You should call me some time or look me up on facebook. Whatever you prefer." He then winks at me and walks away. Half the employees at Pizza Ranch have the guys number now. Since Im jail bait and have a boyfriend. His facebook profile wasnt to pleasing either. Major creep.

It has just been a bad week in general.

Family names

Hey Sarah, what do you think about these old people names?

Euphrasia, Phyllis, Adele, Gladys, Geraldine, Alvina, Marlis, Elmer, Altha, Elroy, Delores, Doralee, Alexei, Otto, and Toby.

I got bored and decided to look at my Moms family tree. These were my favorite names that I found! ha. I dont think I will be picking names for my future children from the good ole' family tree. They were not all that bad. You can defintely tell that many of my relatives are/were catholics. We got a lot of biblical/saint names.

We have a lot of twins too! Except we are not very creative when it comes to naming them.
Denise and Dennis? Gerard Jon and James Gerard? Where is the creativity!? Im very disappointed.

Stella and Josephine were on the list too. I love those names!

Do any of you have strange names in your family tree?

Sydneys Birthday Weekend

But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life, and thanks to a benevolent arrangement the greater part of life is sunshine.
-Thomas Jefferson

I love summer!
The warm weather and endless nights.
Friends and beaches.
The memories that those together create.

I thought our plans would be ruined with a storm.
It just hailed for 30 minutes and than it was over!

Sarah and Sydney arrived soon after.
We ate lasagna roll-ups.
One of the things that I can actually make!

After Syd opened her presents we headed off to the concert.
Mariana's Trench was playing and my friends band was opening for them.
It was a pretty cool concert and I knew two of the songs!
Apparently Mariana's Trench band members are not very nice.
At least thats what my friend said.
We got a late night invite to a bonfire.
Of course we went because we had no other plans.
I got to see an old friend there.
It was weird.
Other than that it was enjoyable.
We go back home at 2 in the morning.

I wasnt sure how we would manage to get up the next morning.
Shannon arrived and I hopped in the shower.
Putting Shannon in charge of getting the girls up was a fail.
I had to get into drill sergeant mode

Finally we started our adventure to Door County!
Shannon was dubbed the navigator.
After failing miserably I decided to take over her job and drive.
We ended up at White Fish Dunes State Park.
Sandy beaches galore!
The water was so clear...and cold!
After our seaweed fight we didnt last long in the water.
We did build a cool sandcastle though!
We drove to Cave Point next.
It was beautiful!
We stacked four rocks to represent the four of us.
It was the "cool" thing to do apparently.
Some of the rocks were stacked twenty high.

I decided to forget about our mapquest directions.
I hate follow directions!
Instead we decided to wing it.
I took a left at a random point and we ended up in Egg Harbor.
It was a cute town with little shops.
We even found the british shop that Sarah was talking about.

We then hopped back into the car and set off for food.
Which lead us to the town of Fish Creek.
We stopped for yummy pizza!
Im surprised we managed to eat it all.
The slices were huge!

We explored the town and went on a million bathroom breaks because of a certain someone!
Shannon and I fell in love with the buzzer pen and gun.
Totally going back to buy that!
I had planned on us going to a drive-in movie.
Which just happened to be a few miles from where we ended up.

We all decided that Brave is a stupid movie.
Which Im surprised others didnt have our same views.
Afterwards we saw The Avengers.
Actually I took a nap during the movie.

The original plan was to stay the night.
After the movie ended it was 1:30am.
I decided I would rather wake up in my own bed.
So Syd and Shannon continued to sleep in the back.
While Sarah and I sat in front and drove back home.

We finally made it back at 3am.
Of course I couldnt fall asleep right away when we got back.

I had a blast in Door County!
It was a perfect way to take a break from our busy lives and hang out as a group.
I cant wait to return and make more memories with my three besties!
Since Sydney got a birthday weekend, Im thinking I should get a birthday week?

June 22

Warning: This post contains a ton of inside jokes.

June 22.
Its a day that I love celebrating but I also dread it.
You see it is the birth date of my favorite ginger.
It is also the day that she becomes a new age.
An age that I have yet to reach, but all of our friends have already turned.

Let me introduce you to my Sydney bean.
Her favorite activities include scolding boys at school and driving us crazy with her fashion choices.

Okay, maybe that's not her.
That is what her future self will look like though!

This is actually Sydney June.
The girl that made me realize that interacting with gingers is okay.
(Sydney I was facebook stalking you and ran across this picture from freshman year!
I knew you would love it.)

When she is not in a grumpy mood, she is the cutest thing ever!
She is a perfect mix of blonde and ginger.
Always saying hilarious things and asking the best questions.
Notso is also a fabulous driver!
When she is not hitting parked cars and driving on a restaurants lawn that is.

When I first met her I had no idea what this girl would bring to my life.
She fit perfectly.
Squintney handles our group like a champ.
We (mainly me) tend to throw a lot at her.

As I sit in her favorite chair and write this, I start to think about how my checkbook has a huge red stain on it because of her.
She is always finding ways to leave a lasting impression.
Hard to forget a ginger like her.

Its weird to think that you have only been in my life for only three years.
We have one more year of high school and a lifetime of memories to be made.
I hope to spend many more birthdays with you.
Nothing like celebrating the life of one of the coolest girls I know.

Happy Birthday Babe!
I love you to the moon and back.

Pizza

Eric and I had our first fight. It only took eleven months to happen. It was one of those stupid fights that once over you just laugh about. Which we did right after we settled the matter!

I have the worst tan lines ever!
You cant tell from this picture but they are bad!
I have three fingers tanned into my arm.
Only half of my back/shoulder is tan/burned.
My back was like three different strap tans.
Don't even get me started on me thighs.
Which are tan in the front and on the right side only.
Next year I'm staying out of the sun!
I do have a nice arm tan though.

Apparently I'm only sick of Pizza Ranch pizza!
I ate like half of this pizza with Eric, Katie, Justin, and Katherine.
It was so yummy!
Or maybe it just tasted good because it was at 12am.

My sister hit a home run!
I lasted an inning before I had to go to work.
They killed the other team.
Their pitchers are awesome!
I wish we could take one of them for our team.

I'm taking two summer classes.
So every Tuesday and Thursday I'm stuck going to school from 9-5:50pm.
I like my classes so far and they count for college credit!
The English class is going to kick my butt though.
All we do is write papers.
Yuck.
Its a class my friend Sarah would love.
The papers are on interesting subjects, I just hate writing.

I thought I would leave you with this picture of my lazy cat.
What a cutie!
I recently read an article about the eight things people do when they are overly attached to their pets.
I fit 5/8.
I just cant resist my cat!
I love him.

My job

I love my job! I do not get paid top dollar(minimum wage for this girl) and I do not do anything exciting (I just love dealing with other peoples unwanted food!) but I love going to work.

I'm starting to make friends. The kind of friends that when you are about to put old gravy from the buffet on your mashed potatoes they stop you, insist that you follow them to the kitchen, and then proceed to pour fresh gravy on your potatoes. This guy has some real friend potential! So far I like the guys better than the girls. Mainly because I interact with them more when Im doing drive-thru.

I like the managers and the top dogs. Jordan(the manager that I think might be gay but no one is sure) was one of my favorite managers! He recently quiet though because he is going to school to become a doctor. His replacement is awesome too!  My favorite thing about Caitlyn(the new manager) is that she pretends not to notice when I steal a sucker and manage to eat it while being in charge of answering phones.

My favorite jobs so far include answering the phones, filling the ice cream machine, washing dishes, and bussing. I at first hated drive-thru because I got bored really easy. Once I started chatting with the people at the front desk and being their back-up it became a lot better! It was the possibility of becoming my favorite job. If only I got tips.

I also dropped by first pizza. Oops. Thank goodness it wasnt on anyone though! We had a girl do that and get fired. The pizza was in a box ready for delivery and it just fell. I dont really think it was my fault but Trevor blamed me anyway. We opened the box(which landed upside down) and the pizza was still in good shape. I also got to dig in the garbage recently. A lady somehow managed to lose her credit card in a  stack a few plates that I took. I found it under about six inches of garbage. Lori(another manager/owner) helped me find it. Some people are just stupid. Who puts a credit card on a used plate?

Fathers Day

My Dad...

  • Is a good example of a man who takes care of his family.
  • Is great at being my Dad and my friend.
  • has one of the biggest hearts I know.
  • treats my Mom like she should be treated.
  • is mine forever and always.

Happy Father Days Dad!

The Park

Eric and I went to Pamperin park recently.
I spent a lot of time there was a kid.
It was one of the only parks I actually enjoyed going to.
Mainly because they had a stream with craw fish and stuff that you could catch.
As a kid I was in heaven!
This may have a sexual meaning but oh well.

Eric confiscated my phone and said "Time to stop being a city girl for a bit."
I  than proceeded to catch a crayfish with my fingers.
How is that for a city girl!
He was impressed since he failed multiple times at catching one.
He returned my phone for a quick picture of Harry.
We let him tag along on our adventure and finally let him go.
I think he was glad for the experience.

We also met got followed by a few kids that wanted to join us on our adventure.
I don't have pictures of them because my phone was in Eric's pocket.

So we skipped rocks and almost fell in a few times.
Had our toes pinched by the crayfish.
Worked on my "tan."

                                                                              Prom?
Even though this is defacing private property I thought it was cute.
I would say yes!

My guy on the railroad tracks.
We had a good day at my old stomping grounds!

5 Question Friday

1. Would you grow your hair out to donate it?
I tend to get selfish when it comes to my hair. Does that make me a bad person? I once donated and that was the first time my hair had ever been that short. I hated it!

2. What song makes you think of summer?
All summer long by Kid Rock. This song kept playing on our way to and from a cabin that we had a youth retreat a few years ago. I had an awesome time that truly defined what summer is all about. Spending time in the lake, boating, bonfires, roasting marsh mellows, late night swims under the moon, talking all night with friends, and being woken up by the sound of pots and pans being banged together. Now that I think about it that song is not very appropriate for a church youth retreat.

3. Are you a flip flops or sandals kind of person?
Once upon a time, during the summer, I would only wear flip flops. I than bought a pair of cute and comfortable sandals. After dealing with a few broken flip flops I switched over to my last resort, my new pair of sandals. I have yet to go back because I love my sandals! Sure I will grab a pair of flip flops in a hurry, but I prefer sandals.

4. Favorite summer treat (ie ice cream, snow cones, etc)?
Iced caramel mocha from McDonald's! Yummy. Cheaper than Starbucks and just as good. I might go make a late night/early morning run there.

5. Do you do something special for the father of your children?
My children do not exist yet. For my Dad I normally make him a card and my mom buys him a gift. We take this hallmark holiday seriously.....

Random Ramblings

A few days ago, while working at Pizza Ranch, a little girl randomly came up to me and said "I haven't seen you before!" and than proceeded to hug me. It was sorta cute but I really hope she doesn't do that often.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I started my summer classes on Tuesday. I love my Home Health Aide teacher! I almost got stuck with the crabby instructor but than at the last minute they switched me. Thank goodness! There is a 75 year old in my class. Her exact words on why she is taking the class were "Well, I'm old and one day I'm going to need some help. I need to make sure I'm being taken care of properly!" She is hilarious!
I'm also taking Intro to College English. The syllabus is full of papers that I will be writing. I'm scared and excited about this class. My teacher seems to love English and he picked good topics to write about. I just hope my writing is adequate.
I'm so grateful that both of my teachers are okay with me missing two weeks of class! Apparently going to Haiti is a good way to get out of class. Except I need to make-up everything but I'm in no rush apparently.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm loving having a job and money. Its only June and Im over half way to my goal that I had hoped to earn during the summer! I calculated my tips and my wages for one night and divided it by the amount of hours I worked. I was making $18.50 an hour. I love tips. I never thought I would like working at a restaurant and busing but I really do! Plus only one person really drives me crazy at work. My work also has air conditioning which is nice when your mother insists it's to early yet to turn on the air conditioning. Crazy woman I tell ya.

Growing up

So you know this whole growing up thing? Well, this year it has really been kicking in! I'm not sure how I feel about it. I guess its about time I really start embracing this weird new stage of my life. With only one year of high school left and all.

I have a job.

Seriously when did that happen? I went from footloose and fancy free to working 30 hours a week. My job is great though! I couldn't have asked for a better first real job. I'm even making new friends. Which my Mother said was important at a job. Ive also figured out I need to work in a fast paced environment. When the restaurant gets slow, I get bored. I hate being bored.

I do my own banking.

So with this new job comes money! I deposit checks and have a check-book. Weird. I do feel pretty cool sliding my debit card.

I drive.

So Ive been doing this for a year and a half already. This past school year I was in charge of picking up and dropping off my little sister at school. I felt old when I was waiting with all the other moms waiting to pick up their kids. Since Summer has hit I'm in charge of getting my sisters to her games and practices. I run to the store and do the grocery shopping. I feel like I am always on the go!

I plan weekend getaways with my friends

I'm planning on going up north sometime this summer with a few friends. No parents or adult figures. Just a bunch of girls on there own. Plus we are paying for it on our own.

Ive been dating a guy for almost a year

Which he thought to inform me by saying "Hey Rae, you know we have been dating for almost a year already!" Why yes I did know that! I feel like it was yesterday that my Dad was insisting I couldnt date till I was thirty.

Its so hot!

I cant believe its the second week in June already!
I start getting depressed starting in July because I feel that summer is fading to quickly.
This past week my class had a surprise goodbye party for our German friend Caro.
We also took her out to lunch and the beach.
Finding a typewriter with ink was awesome!
Perfect way to leave behind a memory.
That day ended with me jumping through a car window in the drive-thru and
Sydney driving on grass that she thought was a drive-way at Pizza Ranch.

In between working 30 hours I managed to go on a mini-roadtrip with my friend.
We found a working tanning bed in her Aunts basement.
Katie of course decided to strip down and go tanning right then and there.
She makes me laugh sometimes.
Eric dragged me to the Humane Society the next day.
I hate going to that place!
I always want to bring a ton of cats and dogs home with me.
Somehow I was convinced to go to a park.
I hate parks.
Im not 100% sure what sparked my hatred but its there.
I lasted ten minutes before I left to go see a movie.
The Avengers!
Good movie to see if you like superhero movies.
I had planned on going alone(I like doing things alone).
Except apparently only "loners" go to movies alone.
So I ended up being joined by Andrea and Zach.
Oh and a random kid that decided to sit next to me.

My favorite part of summer?
The bonfires!
And the things that occur at bonfires.
Nothing like hanging out with friends!

5 Question Friday

1. Did you do anything special for your kids on the last day of school? Or did you parents do anything special for you?

No. My parents were not big on celebrating stuff like that. Summer meant that they had to find people to watch us while they were at work. Once I got older I celebrated with my friends instead!

2. What's your favorite summer tradition with your children?

No kids yet. I hope to have traditions like going to the beach or the fair. I love traditions!

3. What was your favorite thing to do during the summer as a kid?

I loved going to my Grandma's farm and playing with my cousin Cody. We would go up in the hay mow or play in the woods. Almost all of my summer memories involve that farm.

4. How old were you when you were married? Were you a Bridezilla?

Not married yet. Maybe in like 10 years? I think its very possible that I could turn into a Bridezilla....hopefully not!

5. What is your favorite girl name? (I'm needing suggestions.)

My favorite subject! Quincy, Stella, Maisie, Reagan(Im on a presidential kick.), Natalie, Adelaide, and Sage. There is actually a ton more!

Sweet Summer

Aww sweet summer! I have been enjoying relaxing and not worrying about anything!

Last week I spend 3 days at school working on the yearbook.
It was nice being able to spend time with my favorite teacher who is leaving next year!
We spent a lot of time working on yearbook of course...in between watching Keeping up with the Kardashians, Law and Order: SVU, and Friends. We also threw in a little ice cream break.
There is only a few pictures of myself in the yearbook that I do not like! Other than that the yearbook is looking good!

I also helped out at my schools golf outing.
The money we raised is going to the athletic department.
So each sport was given a hole and we had games to go with each sport.
With softball you got to hit a wiffleball with a huge plastic bat.
Wherever the ball landed was where you got to tee off from.
I was the only softball player there with the two coaches!
It wasn't that bad.
They sure like gossiping though!
I also got a wonderful burn from sitting outside so long!
I didn't notice it until I was at work and my thighs felt like they were on fire!
My Mom handed me the aloe and said "If your shorts weren't so short, than the burn wouldn't have been so bad!"
I love that woman!

I also got to walk down memory lane with a few of my friends.
We went to our old(closed) school and walked around.
It was fun reminiscing about the good ole' days there.
I miss it.
This was the fire place in the room I was in for 5th grade.
That was my favorite year of school!

Words to live by

I'm making a list of things I wish I had known earlier. A list that I plan on giving my sister. If only I knew these things before! I will be adding to this list as I think of more things...

  • If you're worried about who will find out, maybe you shouldn't be doing it.
My best friend Shannon tends to keep me accountable when it comes to things like that. If I feel bad telling Shannon than I know I should not have done it.
  • Never make someone a priority who would keep you as an option
I see this happen way to often! At times I have been caught in a situation like this. Its not fun and often leaves you hurt in the end.

  • Scissors are to be used for only cutting paper and other material.
During English class my friend Sarah cut her bangs because they were bugging her! They looked horrible at first but she eventually fixed them. I would not suggest cutting your own hair!

  • Do not ask a question you don’t want the answer to until you are emotionally ready to handle it.
I'm a person that likes to know things. Once I find out sometimes I wish I had not.

  • Good friends are the ones who tell you that your ass looks big in those jeans or that you are making a mistake. Keep them forever.
I love that my group of friends are really honest with each other about things like this. Its important to

  • Learn to use jumper cables.
I did not know how to use them and had to call my boyfriend to help. Playing the role of the damsel in distress was not bad but I really should learn to use them.

  • The only thing you wash with white clothes? White clothes.
I have way to many articles of clothing that were once white and now have a pink or yellow tint. Not cool.
  • Nothing is wrong with being a follower. Just as long as you are following the right thing.
I never liked when people would tell their kids to be a leader. Not everyone is good at leading! If everyone was a leader, there would be no one to follow them. Sure at times being a follower is bad but thats when you need to use your own judgement.
  • Dont stress out about things you cant change
I have spent so much time in high school stressing out about stupid things! In the end everything turns out just fine. Dont worry about it

Wildlife Sanctuary

Eric and I decided to go to the Wildlife Sanctuary!
It had been a few years for both of us since we last went.
We decided the deer was our favorite part.

And that is how we spent the day together.
Exciting couple we are...
