My summer classes are coming to an end. That means real school is right around the corner. Now that I got a taste of college..I don't want to return to high school. Back to dress codes, mandatory attendance, teachers treating you students like they are five, people that take your phone away if you use it and not having the ability to just walk outside. It's going to be rough.

So I made my sister run away. I know that makes me sound like a horrible person but really her definition of running away is to a local movie theater. It all started when I agreed to go to a movie with her. I got home from class to find that she set up camp in my room and decided to tour the place. Awesome. I freaked and refused to go to a movie with her. She proceeded to tell me how I'm such a horrible sister and how life isn't fair...blah blah blah. So while I was cooking my mac and cheese I hear the garage door slam and see my little sister bike down the street.

After I finished eating I decided to go after her. She bikes super fast! I almost gave up looking for her because I doubted she had made it that far already. I also had a mini heart attack when an ambulance went zooming by me.

In the end I drove and she biked to the movie theater. We watched a movie together, I told her she was an idiot, and we drove back home together.

I'm also charging her for the gas I wasted searching for her.

Sisters are just the best!

Haiti update 2012

*Pictures were suppose to be included but they took forever to upload! Oh well.

I forgot to bring a journal to Haiti this year. Thank goodness for WiFi which we only have at night when the generator is on....did I mention Im in Haiti?

The second time around is just as amazing! We have a whole new group but it is the same ole' Haiti.

I spent the night at my friend Shannons house on Sunday. We never get any sleep when we spend the night at eachothers houses. Three hours later we woke up and prepared to make the long drive to Chicago to catch our flight. It took a while because a phone was forgotten and Susan got sick.

We finally made it to O'Hare International Airport though! Shannon forced me to sit in the middle seat. What a brat! Shannon slept and I wrote my five page paper and listened to music. My little sister took my ipod with her to camp...without my permission. I paniked(because I need my music) and found my old ipod shuffle. No screen and 100 songs. Better than nothing.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites. The shuttle picked us up at the airport, after waiting outside in Miami four forty-five minutes. Once at the hotel we took another shuttle to Pollo Tropical, to keep up with tradition. Then we headed to the pool. It was refreshing!

Another sleepless night occured.

We had to catch our shuttle bus at 4:20am. Good times. We made it through security and even managed to get some Starbucks! Then we were off to Haiti.

We landed at the airport in Port Au Prince, Haiti. Got picked up by Bastia and went to a hotel to eat lunch. Driving in Haiti is always an adventure! Then we went to Eco Depot(Home Depot) to pick up some supplies. Finally we were ready for our three and a half hour drive to Caneille, Haiti.

Once we got to our destination I felt right at home! After lunch and a short nap we had a bible study at the church. I got to skype Sarah afterwards too!

The next day(which is today) we had a free day. We went over crafts for the upcoming VBS and found out that one of the dogs at puppies! My friend Shannon is in heaven!
Sorry if this post got long and boring. I need this for my memories!

Off to Haiti we go!

Thank goodness we have a long flight to look forward too. I'm exhausted and ready for a nap!

Post Secret

Post Secret is my Sunday addiction....
Some secrets I can relate to
Others I just skim by
This one secret really hit home recently
And I hate that I have the same secret.
It could be worse.
I have read the most depressing secrets.
Yea, it could be worse.

Fourth of July

The Fourth of July is hands down one of my favorite holidays, besides Christmas and my birthday(which I dub a holiday). It is the perfect respresntation of how summer should be spent. Grill outs, fireworks, late nights, hanging out with people you love, good food, music, and boating.

Im also so grateful for this amazing country that we live in! I leave for Haiti in a few days and I was really reflecting on how good we have it here.

The Fourth of July is also my Mommys birthday! Happy Birthday Mom!

Withour further ado here is the day in pictures.

We ended the day by watching fireworks on the boat.
It ended eruptly by a sudden storm.
Just adding to the memories!

Peanut Butter

Its officially July! How did that happen? This summer is flying by. The good news is that my birthday is in 15 days!
I gave my Mom an early birthday present. Mother-Daughter Pedicures! She then proceeded to drag me into Christopher & Banks to shop. Yuck. I have horrible childhood memories that involve that place. I blew $36 on her in there. Good thing I love her!

I recently helped out at my Aunts firework stand.
The last time I did that was when my cousin Emory has a newborn.
Literally, he was two weeks old under the fireworks tent.
Emily and I had a blast watching him and bringing him around with us.
Six years fly by!

In class we recently practiced "feeding" our clients.
Ashlie and I could not stop laughing.
Our class is awesome!
Especially the people.
All we do is joke around and laugh.
Good times.

Random Fact:

I have officially decided that I hate peanut butter.
