The year 2012 was an interesting year. Lots of good times and some bad. Plenty of tears, but even more laughs.

Found myself a job which I love.
My co-workers are like my family.
Went to Prom with Eric.
It was a lot of fun and we all got a nice workout.
The after party was lame though.

Sarah and Sydney both joined softball!
I loved having them on my team.
They made it a special season.
I partied plenty.
Mainly with my N.E.W. friends.
Nothing like posing for a picture with red solo cups.
I'm almost positive that one went to our softball coach.
What rebels we are.
I returned to Haiti.
Loved seeing familiar faces!

Went to Chicago a few times.
My favorite being with one of my besties Sarah.
Love that girl.

Senior retreat kick-started our senior year.
Late night chats with friends, spiders, skinny dipping, getting lost, and freezing in our tent summed up that retreat.

Our last homecoming was bitter sweet.
Silly string, sparkly dress, more girly late night chats,  tping late at night, and getting caught in Tyler's yard.

Going to Cedarville with Sarah.
We stayed in her sisters dorm.
Sarah and I would have a blast if we went to college together.
I'm not sure we would graduate though.

Taking my last school pictures was interesting.
I never thought that tradition would end.

I attended a lot of concerts with my girls, that were not christian artists.
Which was a whopping two.
About time they decided country music was the best!
There were plenty more memories this year.
Ranging from our time at Sarah's uncle's cabin to the many weekday sleepovers.
2012 had a lot of lasts, laughs, and lazy days.
I'm sad to see it go, but I'm ready to see what 2013 has in store.

Every year, I tell myself that this holiday season, will be different. I'll get into the spirit of the holidays by baking, listening to Christmas music, and wearing ugly sweaters. All of a sudden Christmas is tomorrow and I find myself, once again, disappointed because I didn't get into the holiday spirit. My parents and sister even went to get a Christmas tree and decorated it without me!

On a brighter note, since I hate surprises, my sister told me what my mom got me for Christmas! Shampoo and conditioner. Apparently, my mom overheard me talking about needing some and thought it would be a nice addition under the tree.

Don't worry it gets better! I woke up not being able to breath out of my nose, my head felt like it was going to explode, I couldn't stop sneezing, and my eyes kept watering. While attempting to sleep off this strange illness, my mom apparently found youtube.

Except, she doesn't get the concept of waiting for something to load. It's all stop, listen, stop, listen, stop, etc. I just love being waken up by segments of people singing Christmas songs. I included the video to add to my sob story.

Just call me the scrooge.
Christmas hates me, and I hate it.
Prepare for a nice post tomorrow about the real reason for the season.
You know it's the night of our dear saviors birth?

“Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can’t. You know the month, the year, the day of the week. There is a clock on your wall or the dashboard of your car. You have a schedule, a calendar, a time for dinner or a movie. Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. Birds are not late. A dog does not check its watch. Deer do not fret over passing birthdays. an alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour. And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures. A fear of time running out.”

Foods I would probably enjoy if they didnt gross me out

Eggs: Every time I see one sizzling on the frying pan, in tons of butter, and with a bit of pepper sprinkled on top, I start salivating. Fried until the edges are crisp and then the yolk is broken and allowed to ooze out. After the yolk becomes more solid I plop that egg on my plate. I take one bite of the yolk part and start gagging. Not because it tastes bad, but because I think of what this egg could have been. My egg then gets passed on to either the garbage or an egg lover.

Bananas: I love them in smoothies, and that's about it. They smell good and taste sort of good. I get grossed out when the stringy stuff comes along with the banana and it's so mushy! Plus have you seen what a banana resembles? No straight face eating goes on when a banana is involved for me. That is why you will never see me eating a banana...ever.

Calamari: Aka:Squid. I was fine until I got to the chewy tentacle and then my boyfriend got to witness my half eaten squid tentacle fall from my mouth to the plate. End of story.

Liver paste: My Uncle was trying to convince me to try it. I didn't. The name says enough....

To be continued....

Wedding 2012

This past weekend was my Uncle Keith and Aunt Gail's wedding.
After ten years of dating they finally decided to tie the knot!
Of course a wedding means that the relatives come to town!
Her Mom was trying to figure out the best setting for her camera.
Julie got bored of posing.
I have a fairly large extended family and getting us all together is not an easy feat.
I especially love when my two cousins from Idaho come to town!

Me, Julie, and Aunt Karen
I'm stuck smack dab in the middle of the cousins.
My closest oldest (by blood) cousin is 22(lives in Utah) and my closest younger cousin is 13.
I have a ton of little cousins under the age of thirteen and four cousins 22 and over.
So that has left me hanging out with the adults for the majority of my life.

Me, Julie, and my sister
I love my younger cousins, but relating to them is difficult.
I don't enjoy playing with fake guns and swords and they do.
The great thing about me getting older is that the older cousins have finally accepted me!
I have upgraded from a "little" cousin.
About time!

My Dad, sister, and I
So on Friday my parents, my little cousins, and a few aunts and uncles went to Wisconsin Dells.
Leaving the "left overs" at my Aunts for dinner.
Three beer runs later the conversation was getting interesting.

L to R: My sister, Anthony, Me, Zakary, Julie, and Levi
On Saturday we had dinner at a bowling alley/bar.
My family likes to drink if you haven't caught on to the pattern yet.
We had the best cheese curds ever!

The cousins
Sunday morning I had coffee with my cousins Julie and Levi.
Then we got ready for the wedding reception.

Many pictures were taken....

My Family, Bride and Groom, and my grandma

My mommy and I
My lesbian cousin Gina brought her girlfriend home for the weekend.
My Mother had always told me "Hate the sin, love the sinner" haha
So I really hit it off with her girlfriend.
She was so nice!
I even got an invite to watch the packer game with her and Gina.

Grandma with youngest grandchild
Cute Alarm Clock
Zakary: It is 10:24! Time to rise and shine.
Gina: Zakary, want to come cuddle with me?
Zakary: No. (walks out of the room)

L to R: Me, Grandma, Emory, Jonna, and my dad

Emory and Jonna
It was a good weekend that I did not want to end.
I got promoted to the upper cousin group, bonded with the family, and made a lot of memories.
Hopefully it doesnt take another five years to get us all back together!

She's a little sister

A few days ago my Dad was talking about class rings. Which of course led to a story about how his friends brother pawned my dads ring. I'm almost positive my dad still holds that grudge.  My Mom said she never got one. Then she proceeded to tell me about how she lost her older sisters class ring.

Then it all clicked.

My mom is someones little sister.

It only took seventeen years to really put two and two together.

Losing that ring was a typical little sister thing to do.

That explains why my parents always side with my little sister. They are both #3 in the birth order. They do not know all the crap that the oldest sibling has to deal with. In other words, I have been doomed since the birth of my sister.

Time to do my weekly sweep of my sisters room. My things magically appear in there. This will be a good topic to bring up at our families Christmas gathering. Kick back a few with my aunts and complain about all the things us older siblings have to deal with.
