Spring Break 2013

I feel that the saying, "When god closes a door he opens a window" pretty much sums up my spring break.
I had a lot of my own plans, but instead I ended up joining someone elses plan.
Was it exactly what I wanted?
Did I still have a fun time?
For the most part.
The good news is that one day I hope to open that door, even if its far into the future.
So I went to Florida with one of my best friends, another friend, and three other strangers.
There is nothing like a 27 hour road trip to Florida with strangers!

On day two of our vacation Sarah and I finally broke the ice with them.
Apparently all we needed was a crazy night together.
What did that crazy night entail?

The Cast:
German guy, Gabe (Sarah's confidant), Josh (Heathers, who is married, make-out buddy), Mary (aka: Old lady that looked after us), Scott (Jeff..or whatever else he said his name was), Couple from Michigan, Emily(Prostitute...we think), hotel manager, Kayla, Andrea, Heather, Holly, Sarah, me, and the cops.

So that night involved a hot tub, twins, jealousy, make-out sessions(I am innocent!), "lesbian lovers", German guy wanting a three-some(Which would make him the second guy to want a three-some with Sarah and I), spying on the balcony, meeting a prostitute, running into windows, cops being called, falling out of bed, one of our vacation buddies puking all over the bathroom, falling asleep in a bed only to wake up on the floor spooning Sarah in her sleeping bag, and the next morning having to retrieve articles of clothing from the front office.

If you have any questions feel free to contact my good ole' pal Sarah.
She has the entire night documented in story form with a lot more detail.
I got lazy and decided a quick summary would do.

I hope you enjoyed reading that paragraph because I am not editing it.

The rest of our time was spent on Ft.Myers Beach, Sanibel Island, Lovers Key, Marco Island, Naples, and Goodland.

We burned at the beach (especially my earlobes), ate plenty of food, saw multiple dolphins(along side our boat and on the shore), had a few minor fights(one involving ipads and a late night balcony chat), almost danced with old men, almost got tattoo's, and relaxed.

We even met a famous person!
Have you ever heard of Norman Love?
I had not heard of him either but apparently he owns Oprah's favorite chocolate store.
She visits him often.
Sarah decided to check herself out using his office door.
Guess what?
He was inside and could see it all!

I had a great spring break!
I only wish that I would have partaken in all of the spring break hoopla earlier in my life!

Last high school spring break. Check.

Cherry or Apple

Kayla: Lets play the 52 states game!

Kayla: These strawberries have no flavor! They are probably plastic.

Sarah bought this ugly purse and was trying to get me to like it. She named it Apple while I was pretending not to listen. Sarah then forgot the name of her beloved purse and I had to remind her.

Sarah: Hello Cherry!
Me: Its name is Apple.

Holly's Grandma: Holly had a cord up her dress and I don't know what she was charging!

Andrea: Are you sure?
Heather: Yes I'm sure!
Andrea: (starts to turn)
Heather: Oh god no!

Sarah and I were sitting on the same chair. Holly's Grandpa took that in the wrong way.

Holly's Grandpa: You know there are names for girls like you.
Me: Im assuming he thinks that we are lesbians.

Nightswimming, remembering that night.
September's coming soon.
I'm pining for the moon.
And what if there were two
Side by side in orbit
Around the fairest sun?
That bright, tight forever drum
Could not describe nightswimming.
-Nightswimming by R.E.M.

It was one of those summer nights that I will always remember.
I laugh about it today, I will probably shake my head at it in 20 years, and I will probably long for nights like that in 60 years

Form a pep band in three days.
Make it to the state floor.

Roadtrip down to Madison.
The boys basketball team made it to state. They had an amazing season and finished it off with the silver ball! It wasnt a win but it's still an amazing accomplishment. Not every team can say they won 28 out of 29 games. I am so proud to be a blazer!

Ugh. Friday night was a nightmare at work! I was in charge of the phones and drive-thru. In the middle of our busiest time our computer system froze! I was in the middle of a call and then nothing! I couldn't click on anything. Of course the phone would not stop ringing the entire time. So Kevin, Nicole, Matt, and I were frantically trying to take orders on random pieces of paper. Literally, we were just grabbing things in our reach. Trying to remember what was included with each order and what information to ask for delivery was ridiculous. On top of that we had to search for prices on the menu, subtract coupon sales, and include sales tax. I couldn't even find a calculator and was doing it long hand! After our computer system was fixed, I had to input all of the information into the computer. Reading chicken scratch was hard! We were rushing the order and our handwriting really showed it. I am so glad that nightmare is over!

People and things

This websites takes the most used words in your blog and creates a collage. I did one in 2010 and decided to re-make one.
I guess my priorities shifted....
